Noticed a nylock nut recently in a bowl in the cabinet to the right of the cooktop. Sat it on the counter and today I thought i may as well look where it may have came from.
I had a sneaking feeling and I was correct as the nut was from the Power Lift for the Quartz Top above the Cook Top.
Good thing I looked as the bolt closest to the back wall was starting to back out since the nut had fallen off, pic two and three.
You can see from the bolt and nut combo 4th pic the end of the bolt does NOT stick pass the nut to allow the locking part of the nut to do it's job. So again DRW short changed us by not providing a bolt 1/4" longer that would not have allowed the nut to fall off.
So instead of driving to town and buying two longer bolts I put Blue LocTite on the nuts threads. I am sure this will be a permanent fix as it took 5 years of full time use to have the nut fall off.
