Arrow Rubber cable retainer grommets

Rubber cable retainer grommets. I finally ran out of my replacements. So I went to Lowe’s and found two options. One was a rubber cork, but the sizing of them were not right. So I went with a plastic rivet. I had to take my side cutter to trim it to make it fit. But it should last as it will not dry rot like the stock rubber retainers. I watch these as it sucks to have to fish, find a cable that has come out of the bracket and under the slides seals.

Thanks Ryan! I kept finding broken rubber grommets on the ground by my MS and didn’t know where they were coming from. After seeing your post, I checked my bedroom slides and only 1 of the 8 cable attachments had a grommet remaining. I found the push rivets at Lowe’s and they worked great!

Glad to help. Glad the you caught it before the cable slipped out of the bracket and under the seals.

I just went and looked. Mine are all there and painted over, maybe that helps with the dry rot.

But I did see one cable has moved towards the grommet, something else to keep watch on.

And pick up the rivets for the toolbox.

I thought about doing it that way, but it is really tight behind that bracket that retains the cable.

I've been so fortunate...

...our Mobile Suites is a 2010, so it has the hydraulic slides instead of cables.

Was planning to go the carriage bolt route but the shortest they had was 1" so I started looking at door panel push in rivets. This fits well but could be a bit tighter so I will dab a small amount of "The right Stuff" behind the head.

Head is 3/4" and ribs 5/16" diameter.

I looked at the Christmas tree push pins and the were either to small or big. I measure the hole I needed to plug and came up with those rivets.
