Seal source and cost
On a quest to find seals for our Mobile Suites with IS. I got a part number of CR22558 from Kodiak. Local part stores have equivalents from $29 to $38. Online I can find equivalents for less than $3. Not sure of quality. Wondering what others have found locally or online.
We don't have the oil bath, if that matters. Thanks.

CR 22532 is a single lip seal and the CR 22558 is a double lip seal. SKF now owned them and are most likely US Made.
I highly advise using these or National brand equivalent!!!

Some different prices on Amazon--if it mentions Nitrile rubber, price jumps to $90-$98 depending on single/double lip seal. At least that is what I read into the listings.
Crazy.

Recently had bearings packed at Morryde--4 seals replaced at $5.89/ea. Would think they use what works best for their equipment, so maybe just get the seals from them?

Maybe, or they just stock them under that number.

Unless I am reading it wrong that SKF seal appears to be the wrong size. Everything that I found to fit had a 2.25" bore.

Here is the response from National Seal co. # 472920 is the "grease" seal.
Thank you for your inquiry. The oil bath replacement for part # 472920 is 370219A. It is made in the U.S.

This is what I received from CR/SKF.
Hi Ron,
Unfortunately we do not make an oil bath seal this small. You can use our 22532 seal with oil, but it will not be a self contained oil bath seal.

You basically have ChicagoRawhide/SKF and National for seals, that is if you want to buy quality!
Stick with the numbers I mentioned above otherwise they will be a Chinese POS.
