Is it correct that you don't have any thing to worry about unless you have a generator or generator prep in your rig?

Well then, take your ball and go home!! That will teach them. Did it dawn on you that your rig is 6 years out of warranty and maybe, just maybe, your transfer switch was not one of the recalled ones?

I've got to admit that I agree. If your rig is past it's warranty period: what is DRV (Thor) legally required to do?

Sorry...

Recalls are not warranty dependent. i.e. Takata airbag recall.

But the O.P. still hasn't determined if his rig is involved in the recall...

transfer switch is the one that is part of the recall. DRV has not recall their units like the other did. I did fill complaint with NHTSA wait to hear back from them it take over 72 hour for them to look at each complain.

2nd warranty time or age of your unit has nothing to do with a recall. look at Takata Corporation made airbags.

so take your little ball and go home!! Bill know what your talking about first..

I do love my DRV that way its going on 6 year it has had small problems over the years its house on wheels. I do not mind that thing brake. but when they know your seating on a time bomb and you get wakeup 1:30 am with tv going on and off and trailer filled with smoke. Then get told oh well your unit not on the recall list and we not going do anything about it and yes we know about the problem. It makes you think way would you buy one from them again..

I guess I am wrong for thinking this by what some of you have wrote.

But I stand up for what is wrong and fight to get thing right , unlike some here do.

Has DRV seen your paperwork, that shows the switch in question is one of the affected parts?

Another question: Are you positive that the one that's in your rig; is one of the defective ones that they recalled?
It's possible that your rig had been equipped with an updated part.

...Just sayin'...

Transfer switch failures have been a problem across the RV industry, and typically because of improper torque of the lugs.

The Iota of course may have insufficient terminals to carry 100 amps plus reserve.

What sad its only a $200 replacement the bad switch part that would have save me $1500 in TVs convection/mic oven and other elect. items if they would have just sent out a safety warning that your Switch many be bad. I would not have a problem buy a new Switch. But they are playing the number game and it total them to ride it out and do nothing.

Chuck said " Then get told oh well your unit not on the recall list." That seems to say it all. They have a list of every component that went in to the build of your unit. Yours WAS NOT ON THE RECALL LIST. How much plainer could it be? How could the switch manuf not know DRV was installing them? They were selling them to DRV. Suppose they thought they were using them for fishing weights and not for the intended purpose?
And I do know what I'm talking about.
Porthole=the transfer switch only has to carry a max of 50 amps per leg. Not 100. That is what the terminal rating is for.

That's why I'm thinking that he made have received an updated (and unaffected) part...
Unless he can prove otherwise to the manufacturer: his rig isn't on the list!

That way I turn in a complaint with NHTSA to get DRV on the Recall list

So why is their so any Recalls? it do to manufacturers do not do the right thing.
You're making it kind of tough for me to want to be on your side with this matter. This might be why DRV isn't talking with you...
I'm done: good luck...

I went back and reread several of your earlier posts and the recall notices YOU posted from the Feds. I do see Montana and several other brands listed, but not DRV. The letter from Thor, who owns DRV, seems pretty specific to ALL Thor products. The letter is to dealers, not individual owners. It seems to put the onus on the dealer to contact individual owners, not the factories. Did you buy your rig new or used? Contact the original dealer and ask him how come he didn't notify you.

Bill

I got it NEW AND THOR pickup DRV about 2 years ago around 2016. I have call have they said DRV will not pay the dealer if they do not have a recall. DRV is not on any list I have found. so its a waiting game. I fixing my unit anyway. everything will be in next week.
