Tighten fender tire molding ?

Traveling back home from the DRV International Rally I had the distinct misfortune to travel over I-70 around Indianapolis. UNBELIEVABLE.

As a result the molding around the tire opening, drivers side, has a 1/8” gap in several places. Any idea how I tighten this molding?

Any help appreciated.

Don

Molding that outlines the wheel well.

That’s the right picture.

Thanks

Sorry to hear of your issues! I'll be interested to see/hear what the solution is, we haven't experienced that yet but knowing my luck we will. I'm surprised we haven't already! Traveling from the rally to Glenwood Springs on I-70 west of Denver is pretty sad as well, it's been a long while since I've seen an interstate in that bad of condition!

I'll be interested in seeing any solutions too. I have a similar problem develop last week on a trip to Alaska. I'll be heading to the RV repair shop next week to see what they suggest and will post what they say.

Have you tightened the screws on the back side?

Yes. Doesn’t change anything.

DRV fender mounding loose

I had that problem with mine several years ago, I added more stainless screws. No problem after that. Yours won’t tighten because they are stripped. After I added the additional screws never any more probkems

Mine are tight. They are not stripped.

Both of my fenders have split vertically in the middle. Going to replace them and then add a "L" metal behind to keep it more stiff.

Almost all Interstate highways are in pretty sad shape. Just got back from a 7,000-mile trip from Florida to Glacier National Park, I-15, I-70, I-65, I-40 and I-25 are in sad shape. Some parts are fine but very few. I-10 and I-75 are in great shape.
