Truck tires

I'll start this out by saying I know this can be a very highly subjective question. I have a 2018 Dodge Ram 3500 Dually. What would you guys and gals recommend for tires. The Nexian's on it are junk in my opinion and will need replacing at about 20000 miles. I'm pulling a DRV36RSSB3 which probably weighs in close to 20000

Well there Gary. I'm in the same boat. Just a older boat. I have a 1998 Dodge 3500. Just finished 40,000 miles on my Toyo A/T II. I was real happy with them. But looking at the Toyo A/T III. My Raptor 30' toy hauler only weighs 12k. Good luck.

Do you mean Nexen Tires? If you do, what is wrong with them? They have been making tires longer than Toyo?

Yes Nexen. They are the OEM tires on Ram. Not impressed with the wear. Truck has 18000 miles and the tires look like a set with three times the mileage and yes they have been rotated and the front end alined. This has been pretty much local driving with a couple short trips. Looking to hit the rd full time come sept and want to start out with fresh tires that will hold up.

I agree that the Nexian tires are JUNK. I two develop a lump, like someone glued a football on them. I only had 20k on them and trashed them. I installed Bridgestone Duravis R500 tires. I guy on a Ram forum is a commercial transporter and tries tires all the time. He highly recommended them. They are also a commercial tire.

I got about 40k out of my Nixens before I replaced them with Michelin MS 2s. So far so good! I took Cummins 12v98's advice, he (Ron) loves those tires! I'm happy with my purchase so far.

Michelin makes a great tire also. But I bought the Bridgestones as the guy has over a million miles of transporting in his sever Rams that he has owned. And he really liked the tires. And it being a commercially rated tire helped.

Good MAN Dan!!! I sold my NEXENS at 200 miles cuz I knew they were CHIT.

41k on my Michelins and they are looking great. My loaded rear axle weight is around 9,750#.

YES they will last but a person needs to decide what is important. Long life or long life with a good ride.

My vote is for Michelin MS 2. I have always had good service from Michelin tires, excellent wet weather traction, nice ride and handling, and good tread life.

I will throw my vote in for the Toyo ATII as well as their MTs as well. I have always gotten great mileage out them and they handle all road conditions. Discount tire will do price matching as well if you can get them an advertised price. The last set I got for my wife’s Jeep they marched an online price from Wally World that was 20 bucks cheaper then discounts advertised price.

At least 10 ply truck tires!
They cost a little more but are worth the investment!

Michelin tires are hard to beat, if cost isn't important.
I have had great luck with coopers for a lot less money.
My trucks are only 2500's. They are farm trucks and haul some stupid big loads on 30 foot dual tandem trailers.

First choice would be the Michelins, second choice would be the Cooper's.
Let 2 sets of Michelins I got 70k miles while towing a 16.5k 5th wheel over half of those miles, which makes their higher price worth it they outlast others nearly 2 to 1.

Just ordered these Pro Comp AT tires. I do a lot of OHV parks with sand or mud. With my Can-Am. For my 98 Dodge Dually.

As soon as I wear out these Continentals (which I am not a fan of) I will be switching to Michelins. I have had them on other trucks and are currently on my DRV and have worked well.
I will probably go with the Michelin XZE for my F450. I currently have the Michelin XTE2 on the trailer and they are great.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Pretty much it will be between Michelin or Cooper. Would like a 12 ply tire but would settle for 10's
