What furniture will fit

We have ordered a 40 kssb4 without furniture per reccos on this site. Can't find one around here to measure for width of sofa and theater seating. Can anybody give me the measurements inside the back walls for the sofa? Also could I get a measurement from the hutch to the slide wall where the theater seating (recliners) go? Thank you so much.

There are a couple of options you can buy at Lazy Boy or have some make by an amish furniture maker. Where did you order your unit? If you ordered it from RR, Rolling Retreats, then ask Alicia. I think she is the most knowledgeable person on DRVs. I’m going to be ordering some new reclients soon. I like the stock couch. The main reason is that you can lay out on it with out having your feet or head on the arm rests.
We looked at ordering with out furniture like you, but it was only a $750 credit. So we thought just keep it and replace it when they wear out or when we would want a change.

Assuming the rear area of most Suites are identical for width, the space between my walls from baseboard to baseboard is 92 5/8"

We like our couch and theater seating. What we don't like are the poor quality cushions. I had our local upholstery guy replace the 3 couch cushions insides with top quality foam. They are VERY firm and supportive now. Theater is fine for now but most likely will do the same next Summer.

What furniture will fit

Thanks for the help. I am ordering furniture from Lambright up in Indiana. It looks like the sofa will fit easily. I was also hoping to fit a 76" theater seating in the slide between the slide wall and hutch in the 40kssb. Wanted to make sure it will fit if anyone can help us with that measurement. Thank you.

Yes. Alicia at Rolling Retreats has been fantastic. What a great buying experience. After 3 RV's never thought a dealer could be this helpful and fair.

Little heads up on my sofa experience with old and newer Suites--in both units, the couch tended to move around and always to the rear and door side. I put spacers at the floor level for the old one, and now have noted the newer one has same problem. Have seriously damaged back of sofa and window trim by movement of the sofa. Just recently placed a 2x4 across the entire back wall to space the sofa away from the window/wall--that is why I know the measurement across the rear. Need to travel some more to find out if it moves sideways. Haven't heard of any others having this problem, so maybe it's just my driving.

Thanks. We will do that to protect the back wall.

Our rear sofa does not move at all. I just need to make sure that the cushions are pushed all the way in. If they are not, the rear slide will catch it and try to compress it.

I have a 40KSSB4. If you still need the measurements, I can get them for you when I get home tonight.

I measured the distance between the edge of the hutch and the window trim at the end of the slide on the door side of my 40KSSB4 (the max width to allow something to slide in place). It is 79" edge to edge. The max depth on the floor of the slide is 36".

I measured the back wall between the window trim on either side (the max width to allow something to slide into place). It is 79" wide. The max depth from the slide walls on either side (the end walls of the opposing slides) and the back wall is 36".

Thanks heiser252. Darn. Having the hutch widened 4", open at the bottom and a pencil drawer for a computer desk. Guess the 76" theater won't work. Wonder how wide the theater seating DRV puts in there is? I was just wondering where all the width went from 101' on the outside to 79" inside? Rig is ordered so I really appreciate everybody's help trying to get this right.

1Warren1,
There must be some confusion on my part about which dimension you are referring to when you ask where the width went? The rear sofa section on most/all? DRVs is the full width of the unit minus the depth of the walls. The 40KSSB4 looks to be the same rear sofa area as mine which is the 92-93" measurement.
Are you and Chad talking about the same area as I am?
Joe

I wanted to do the exact same thing you described with the hutch, but I also wanted theater seating in the slide. DRV said they couldn't do both because there wasn't enough room. The theater seating won out. I figured I would use that way more than I would ever use the hutch/desk.

Yes. That was a tossup. Lambright also makes a 72" or I will go with recliners and a narrow table. Hope we see y'all on the road. Can't wait. Thanks.

We looked at the Lambright but felt their furniture was very dated. Nice quality.
