2004 Damon Intruder tires

Hi, My husband and I recently purchased a 2004 Damon Intruder. It does not have a spare, and we want one! The tires that are on the coach are: 9R22.5
We can't find this tire anywhere. Any suggestions? What would be a good replacement?

Go to tire store.
Buy what they say.
Have them check date codes.
You probably, since you can't get that size tire, are dated out.
Tires expire,
Go
Sslllooowwwllly to your tire guy.

That is a truck tire size and is available. I suggest you verify that the tire size was what was original for your rig and check with truck tire dealers for availability and options.

Duck makes a good point about tire age. Too many motorhomes are rolling on old tires asking for trouble.

Almost no one that uses a standard truck tire carries a spare

They are readily available all across the country and they rarely fail given proper care and inflation

I have never carried a spare on anything larger than a 19.5

tires

Thank you everyone for your answers. Was feeling pretty lost. My husband found Mobile Truck and RV Repair. They are coming out to look at our tires to see exactly what we have, then continue on from there. Once again, thanks!

Simply look for the date code. It will be in an oval and it will be 4 numbers. the first 2 will be the week, and the last 2 will be the year.

How did you make out?

It is a smaller truck/trailer tire for 6.75 inch rims

Several tires that will fit in the 14 ply rating

no go

The last guy said he could find it for us, but could not. We have never experienced such a problem getting a spare. We live in Largo FL. If anyone can point us in the right direction as to where to purchase a tire and rim that size, we'd sure appreciate it.

Don't know where in the world you would put the spare or why. Are you going to carry the tools to change the flat? When did the previous owner last buy tires? 5 to 7 years they will need to be replaced regardless of tread.

My guess is you will need to go to the company that mad the chassis. Mine is frieghtliner so I would call them. I would guess Ford or Chevy for yours but look inside your rig as there might be some stickers with that information.

Linnea; I suggest you try to change a tire on your rig. If you are like me, then you won't be able to get the tire/rim assy on the wheel studs, it's just too heavy, and I only have a 19.5. I can get it on, but with a lever on the bottom. I purchased a spare tire, with no rim, and will rely on roadside assistance to remove, replace the tire, and reinstall it.

The tire is a common size and has several that will interchange

Mount the same tire on axles in pairs

Almost no one carries a 22.5 spare, very few tire only

Do they put the coach on a flat bed and take it to their shop?

Go to a tire store.
Do what they tell you.

If you have a flat the tire guys come and do it at the location on the side of the road.

22" tires are very heavy & so is the rim. the TORQUE the lug nuts will be more than you could possibly do. tire repair guys use high air pressure impack. to take wheel off & back on your rig..

OUCH!! I had 4 Goodyear Wrangler tires mounted and balanced last year on my Jeep toad for not much more...

I agree with the roadside assistance... Unless you have some weird tire size, let the pros handle it. Get off the road, set up your safety triangles/markers... then go in and make a sandwich! You have your home convenience with you, use it!!

True. Some folks have such a destination focus that this suggestion give them hives. But you’re exactly right. Maybe add a favorite adult beverage to the sandwich whilst you’re waiting.

Plus the wheels for the front will not fit the back dual. Just call for help and enjoy the fact you are waiting inside an RV.
