2015 VS 2016 vegas 25.2

We are currently looking at a 2016 Vegas. Ive decoded the VIN and its on a E450 chassis but the VIN doesn't mention anything about the unit sitting on the chassis. Is there some other way to verify the year of the Vegas? I thought I heard that in some cases the motorhome is a different year than the chassis. Thanks for any input on this.

The VIN is assigned by Ford and thus will only describe the Ford chassis--when you look up a VIN decoder.

A phone call to Thor with the VIN will tell you what model year the coach is.

Once you own it you can log into Thor's owner resources page (with the VIN) and get a wealth of information about the coach (manuals, diagrams, serial numbers, etc.).

Typically Chassis sit around at the plant (for up to a couple of years) before a motorhome is built on top of them. Thus the VIN very well may say 2015 for a 2016 (or even 2017) coach.

QueitRiot..... "Are you banging your head"? LOL.

Jamie is correct. My Axis is a "2017" model but the Ford Chassis is "2016". If you can look inside each RV your looking at you will see the Thor tag and a vin # on the driver side will under/Next the window (behind my captains chair). Take picture of it that way you can run the vin # plus it will show what year the "body" is. I would just assume the chassis is one year older than the body to be safe.

Look at the dash for gear indicator (PRN1234D). If its a 2015 or older it wont have "D4" (which is the 6 speed tranny). (If older will only go up to D3 = 5 speed tranny).
