Talking Hello! Newbie looking at Cruise America refurbed 19G

Hi folks,

Glad to be here. I am possibly buying a refurbed Cruise America 19G 2017 145k, and looking for thoughts on pricing (covid sent things crazy, right!), get renovation ideas and learn more generally. They are asking $42,000. Feels high when old posts on here from 2020 were $30ks!

Last rig was a Ford T350 I converted, but this time I want to get the keys, unpack my stuff, and hit the road!

Feel free to be in touch

Natalie

Welcome to the best virtual campground anywhere!
Those little 19Gs are about as cute as a smiling puppy.
When it comes time for the walk-through: make sure that they explain how every system works. More importantly: make sure that everything works as it should.
Good luck!

Welcome to the forum.

What does refurbished mean? New AC, furnace, water heater? What did they do to claim the unit is refurbished?

Welcome! Good luck with your new adventure. It does seem a bit pricey for a smaller 4 year old coach with 145,000 miles. But if it checks all the boxes for you and has good maintenance records it might be terrific. It can be hard to find anything that isn’t old in that price range.

"Asking" prices aren't necessarily "buying" prices.
Good luck with the negotiations.

Hi,
I am also in the process of purchasing a Majestic 19G (refurbished) from Cruise America. Price does seem to have gone up due to demand. Mine is 40K with 140K miles. This is before taxes and warranties....question...are the warranties worth the extra cost?
One for the coach and other for the drive train/engine. Total is about 4K for both.

Welcome aboard!
Those little 19Gs are about as cute as a smiling puppy!
Asking price isn't the same as a buying price...
For 40K: they sure as heck can do better on the warranties.
And since it was a rental: the warranties are worth their weight in Gold!

Make sure you get a 3rd party PPI. We came from boating and the preowned ones from charter firms had a lot of hours but flawlessly maintained with all the documentation.

Have a thorough inspection done; before you accept it.

Pre Purchase Inspection- in boating it is called “surveys “: inspection of every system, road test- oil sample analysis or both engine and transmission. Oil samples take a few days and cost 💲 50. Will let you know the status of the internals. By knowing what is floating around in the fluid.

I guess that a PPI would be what takes place before a "PDI"
(Pre-Delivery Inspection)

Especially if it is preowned. I boating anyway you can’t get a loan or insurance without the survey.

3 months ago we bought a 2015 28Z with under 5K on the clock for slightly more than that.
