2022 22FEF New Class C owner

Hello from New Jersey- My wife and I purchased an new RV last year and enjoy traveling to new places. We are hoping the RV, and so far it has improved the enjoyment of traveling. But the quality of the Thor RV is less than stellar lets just say, but I enjoy making modifications and repairs. I am looking forward to gaining some tips and tricks from knowledgeable people here and on the road.

Welcome! I have a very similar 2020 class C. As long as you're comfortable fixing mechanical/electrical/plumbing things, AND have decent trouble shooting skills, AND have the patience for both - you'll have an enjoyable time. You have to roll with problems, because that's the nature of owning an RV.

Thanks- I am plumber/HVAC tech by trade and have fixed many issues in the year we have owned it. The list keeps getting longer, LOL. I feel I fixed so many issues under warranty that the dealer should reimburse me. The couple warranty issues we fixed so far have taken months to correct but they have corrected them. I am ok with that so far and out of warranty now.
One big problem is I cannot find a Ford dealer to look at the E350 steering recall. The dealer says its not our problem and ford dealer says can't work on it with RV body. Frustrating. There may be one in Delaware I heard will work on it. Thanks

I would ask Thor customer service, who they recommend that is near you and does chassis work under warranty? A long time ago we needed a repair to our E-450 Class C, and were sent to a place that dealt in big trucks and generators (?) but they fixed whatever it was and were very pleasant to deal with.

Ford Truck Shop

Not sure where you are in VA, but Sheehy Ford in Ashland works on my 2021 E 450 chassis.

You may already have done this, but i found the steering a little off, and i drove my 24 foot Thor to Texas. My son wanted to drive it, and immediately he told me to have the front end aligned. I did so, and and noticed an improvement. () i went to a truck dealership in Texas,)
Discovered that the country song about the "West Texas wind" was right on the mark; there is a 15-20 mile wind blowing constantly from west to east, enough that you constantly turn the wheel to the left as you drive north and east. As soon as you get into Missouri, the problem disappears.

Welcome and enjoy the Forum.

I am always learning something new from it, like the recall on the E350 steering that you mentioned. I have a 2022 22E and I assume it has the same issue. Do you have a link to the recall?

I don't have the link but the letter from Ford says,
Safety Recall Notice 22S08/NHTSA22V089

Thanks Roadking545.

Here is the official Ford recall notice to dealers in case you are interested. It gives the instructions on how to perform the recall.

Thank you! The diagram should make it easy to see if the recall was already done on our Chateau.
