Do you have reservations for the Keys yet?
Where are you staying down there?

Hi Wormzerker75
Congrats on the purchase.
That is a nice motor home. I just purchased the same model and year. Pick it up today. Looking at going on a short two night trip leaving tomorrow for Solvang north of Santa Barbara. We traded in our 2018 Thor Siesta 24SS to get this bigger coach. Lots to do to get it ready. Let us know how things turn out on your first trip.

Solvang is awesome. We were just down in January. Spent time their, Santa Paula and then Valencia visiting our daughter. No more Ca trips though for us until fuel comes down. Bad enough up here in the Northwest.

Congratulations and thank you!
Fell in love with the 37.1 floor plan. Found the color we wanted locally (Indigo).
Cant wait to hit the road.

Awesome.
We were there in January for a couple weeks, heading back down in June we liked it so much. With the toll road through southern Florida (especially around Miami), not too bad of a drive.
If your not bringing a boat, rent a small skiff and dock it at your campsite.
Exploring the little keys and fishing is hard to beat.
Good luck and have fun.

There is a less expensive route. Take I-75 South, exit at MM101, turn right go to Hwy 41 South-East. You travel through the Everglades. You will in joy the ride. You then head to Homestead FL and then turn right on to US1.
Oh you need to stop and visit Naples before heading to the Keys.

I can't remember the cost for tolls, about 30.00 I think (there and back).
Going down 75 and across the Everglades adds almost 2 hours, and 100 miles.
But we do love that side of Florida. We fly down to Sarasota once or twice a year for the weekend, rent a car, and explore.

Adding that time and distance is worth it. I have been up and down the FL turnpike, nothing to appreciate and remember. I have done both and the Everglades is something to remember. Please do not cut yourself short.

Thanks for the tips. Our goal is too stop and smell the roses (or at least slow down and enjoy the scenery) so we might consider that.
Either way Florida is better than Chicago so we cant go wrong...

Please come our way, you will not be sorry that you did.
When traveling Hwy. 41 from Naples to the keys on Hwy. 41 there is a camping area known as Midway. It is an honor pay situation.
Oh, also when you pass Hwy 29 about 12 miles on the left is a large brick building. It is a ranger station. You most likely will see 12'+ Gators there.
There is another place down the road Williams Rest area, again great place to see gators. Then there is a place you can stop and see and hear about the Sunk Ape. Also, they have a 23' Python.

Unfortunately, time is limited on this trip, so we are wanting to get to that waterfront campsite as soon as possible, get the kayaks in, wet a line, and make sure the beer is cold!
Thanks for the idea though, next time.
