Hello, from Fort Wayne

My wife and I have been fulltiming for two years now and currently staying in FTWayne IN till Sep. visiting with our daughter and grandchildren. I'm always wanting to be on the forefront for new ideas and issues concerning campers and their rigs here on this forum as we too own a Thor product, a 2017 Jayco North Point 377 RLBH, which we really love.

We're glad that you found us!
How about some pictures of your rig?

After your visit with your Daughter and her children: where do you think you'll be going next?

Thanks everyone. Certainly is nice being close to family. Being so close to the RV Capital, where most are made, we plan to attend the Elkhart Midwest RV Super Show Aug 9-12. Who all plans to attend?

In Sep, we travel back to TX where we’ve bought land (near Llano TX), and plan to build a home base, with a small residence, a RV ‘barndo’/shop/carport, plus two 50a FHU slots for friends and family. We hope to still travel 6-8 months of the year park hosting in TX, seeing the kids here, and traveling the country.

Thanks, Bob. We’ve been blessed with safe travels. Except for one. We tail-swinged and scraped another vehicle leaving a park in the third month. $2K to ours, $15K to theirs. Ouch!

As an "Insurance Guy": I can safely say that "It happens..." Just take your time getting used to where all of the new corners are, and it'll all turn out fine!

(My rig is only 31 feet long, and I've squashed a couple of curbs also... )

We’ll be staying at Johnny Appleseed park for a month in July for the Three Rivers Festival. Will you still be there in July?

I copy you on that. If it ain’t the lower extremities, watch for the upper! At Sesquicentennial State park in SC, the narrow paved campground rd winds through the park with 2’ diameter tall pine trees, some right to the edge and I almost took out my dinette awning at the top. I stopped just in the nick of time as I pull thru slowly and tilt my passenger side mirror up to catch the error in time. 2’ more and I’d made contact!

Yes, I second that. Even with the lack of sewer, we love it here. Stay seven nights seventh night is free! Comes out to 18.85/nt. Not bad at all, but they don’t discount for a month’s stay...then that works out to $566/mo, not including the 4-5 $10 dumps you’ll have. Call it just over $600.

Yes. However, TRF is all booked up and we have to leave for two weeks starting Sat Jul 7, return on Jul 21. We’re in 14 now, then 07 upon return. Then leave again on 29th, we haul the rig to Middlebury for Jayco warranty service..our two year warranty ends. Then back to JAP site 14a to stay here until the Johnny Appleseed Festival kicks everyone out for two weeks. Whew! We move around here a lot. Oh yeah, one other not so nice feature here, every 2-3 days, the dumpster gets picked up and DROPPED just past 6am! Wakes the whole camp up! But come by and say hi!

I mistyped. I said we would be there for a month but really only there for a week. However, we will be there on the 21st so we will watch for you to return.

Great, look forward to meeting you then. Look for the North Point on the nose cap.

If you want to stay in the area for the two weeks JAP is booked there is Fireside which is about 15 min straight north on hwy 69. Get off at the first Auburn exit, turn left, go over the bridge, and turn right after about 50 yards. Not fancy but it’s clean. We stayed there for three weeks after JAP closed for the winter, we were waiting for our house to be completed.

If you decide to go there make a trip to the Cord Automobile museum, well worth the time. The museum is actually the old Cord factory and has a LOT of very interesting cars!!! Try Mad Anthony’s for a great lunch or dinner, located in downtown Auburn and not far from the campground.
