Another 1st time RV owner
Wife and I bought a used 2016 Vegas 24.1 in June. Apparently the first owner took a few trips and traded it. We got it with 1900 miles.
I started out looked for something to replace/back up our 2007 Suburban. I thought maybe an RV would work as primary use would be towing my drag car to tracks in southeast and escape weekends. After looking at older used class C units, we moved on to looking at small class A. I liked an older Itasca Sunstar and a 29.2 ACE. Both were impressive but being on the F-53 chassis, they were heavier.
So far, the towing capacity, payload, outside storage and floor plan have worked great. At race track, I can cool off between rounds. We took a short trip to Disney campground with dog and 7 year old. Was great though I would like a bigger shower.

Welcome to the forum. You'll find lots of friendly folks here to answer your questions or help resolve any problems you might have with your Vegas.
If you need a more comprehensive Owners' Manual than the one provided by Thor -- go to the Motorhome Tech Topics area of this forum. There is a sticky thread at the top with a link to the Axis/Vegas specific manual that I compiled.

Glad you found the camper that fits your needs with most of the bugs worked out. We bought ours used also, with very few miles on it, but with a few bugs. Dealer sold it to us as is, so warranty did not apply.
We have enjoyed our Vegas though and have put a lot of miles on it with coast to coast trips etc.
Like you and others, I wish the shower was a little bigger. The shower mod with extended rod really helps though, and you may want to take a look at that if you haven't already. Also, one important oversight from Thor is the tail lights leaking. You may want to take a look at that right away. There is a fix for that.
Since you have the 2016, you may have the double bathroom doors instead of the bi-fold finger pinching doors. I have just modified my bi-fold to double doors and it really works better and wife is happier.
Since you are a racer and most likely a DIY'er, you may find the tips and advice here on the forum helpful. We look forward to your input also.
Happy trails

Welcome !
With the 2016 , you should have the shower ARC upgrade .
I think we all can agree..the shower could be a bit larger, but that is the price we pay for the 25' motorhome !!
We did upgrade the shower head to the Oxygenics Power head.
Also changed out the faucet to the lever handle.
You might want to place a round cutting board over your sink..it gives you more working room ... photo attached of what we have done
Step cover
WE LOVE OUR AXIS !!
feel free to ask us ALL questions...this is a great forum !

Sir, we downloaded your manual before we bought. You did a first class job, Thanks for your effort.
We did look at a 2012 Sunstar and a 2013 ACE. We liked the extra size but the Vegas gave us everything at a lighter base weight. Seemed like the e450 had better cargo capacity than either of the bigger units if I read things right.
I can live we the shower, we did put the oxygenics head on.
I am considering upgrading sway bars though is not critical. I love the engine/transmission combination.
We recently stayed at Ft Wildeness Campgroud, worked great with dog and 7 year old.
Overall we have another tow vehicle that I can sleep in that costs less a new Suburban. Towing, the Suburban gets about 2 mpg better.
I have no complaints, I understand this is an entry level unit.

Kay,
Do you happen to have the dimensions of the step cover? Thinking about making one before we take our pups on their first trip.
TIA
BTW Muggs, congratulations on your purchase and enjoy your Vegas.

Hi Mike...the Oxygenics Shower Head puts out a strong stream of water, adjustable, while using less water...the stock shower head does not make use of the water pressure, or lack of, very well in my opinion. It isn't terrible, just a matter of preference.
The faucet...with the lever action, keeps the water from wet hands in the sink, rather than behind it.
I had been wanting these additions for a few months..and found them on a great sale at CW...even my frugal husband couldn't resist !
I hope this helps...posting photos here and at Mods/improvements thread.

I have a Vegas 25.2 and when we go to Disney we use their showers so I have less clean up. We don't usually use public showers but being Disney they are really nice.

Larry...I will get back to you on the measurements tomorrow...
there was a thread on this a couple months ago...some members did it differently, with the same results...
Ron used a piece of plywood..I stained the edges and we placed stickon tiles from HD which were as close to a match to our floor as possible.

Thanks so much Kay. Much appreciated. Ordered one of the Oxygenics shower heads today also. From all the comments about them it seems to be a good changeout.

We got one of the shower heads for house first. Worked great in house. Now have one on tv, makes big difference.
We are getting ready to go to race for 5 days. Just us and dog.
Good news is, Vegas is small enough there is no issue using to go get gas and food.
