Axis + Chev Silverado=TOAD-?
Looking to see if it works. We bought our 2017 Axis 25.3 from a private seller last Aug ‘20. It came with Roadmaster tow setup, looking to TOAD our 2013 Chev Z-71 Silverado.... Should-shouldn’t-?

How much does your truck weigh ready to tow? Could be up to 6000 lbs. That's where I would start. Then weigh your MH ready to camp.
Then see how much margin you have to GCWR and verify the tow bar and receiver are rated to tow that truck's weight.

I suspect the 8,000 lbs you are quoting is the hitch rating. That is just the strength of the steel in the hitch and says nothing about handling, braking, engine and transmission stress.
The more important figure is the GCWR, gross combined weight rating. That is the weight of the MH fully loaded, with people and fuel plus the weight of the toad. It might take less than 8,000 lbs for the toad to stay within the GCWR.
Also is the 2017 25.3 built on the E350 or the E450 chassis. It might make it if the E450. Doubtful if the E350.

hitch rating does not equal towing capacity. If your MH is at the GVWR of 14,500 lbs you only have 7,500 lbs to reach the GCWR of your chassis of 22,000 lbs. Those are general E450 numbers - check the specs for your year Axis.

I have a theory about these things...
If the Toad can pull the RV: the RV probably shouldn't be pulling the Toad.
GCWR...

Yes I was thinking along the same lines. The numbers won't add up. The Silverado a bit much for an AXIS!

Yeah check the coach's VIN to see if E350 or E450 that will give you the GCWR. (VIN decoder: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/vindecoder.php )
Next take the coach to a scale and weigh it ( https://catscale.com/cat-scale-locator/ ).
Subtract that weight from the GCWR and if the results are greater than your truck you're good if not well then nope.
Have to say, however, that would look pretty odd going down the road: An Axis pulling a full sized truck.

I did the Math on mine, and figured that I could tow 4200 lbs. (Hitch is rated for 5K...)
So we researched the snot out of it, and came up with a 3200 lb package..

Axis 25 + tow dolly + 2020 Hyundai Tucson
Hi all, based on your responses this may be the ideal situation. Damn Tucsy bought lst Apr 2020, only has 3,600 mi. but bought beginning of Pandemic, drive Silverado everywhere. Anyway is this a better fit? Manufacturer reference/idea?

It can not be flat towed. If AWD you will need a trailer. If 2WD you could use a dolly.

How do you use a dolly for rear wheel drive toads?

Although it is not recommended I have seen a bunch of rear wheel drive Mercedes and BMWs being dolly towed with the rear wheels on the dolly,
