Just Ordered our RV

Hello,
I am a new member and we just ordered our 2022 Thor Compass 23TW. The lead time they told us is about 6 months. This is our first RV but we are not newbies to the great outdoors. We used to backpack - many years ago and still kayak and hike. This forum is wonderful and I look forward to being a part of it. Can’t wait to get our RV! I am sure we will have many questions as we get closer to pick up date. The dealer is 700 miles away so it should be an interesting journey.

Congratulations! I ordered nearly 4 months ago, and pick up next week. My dealership was remarkably accurate with the estimate. They said 3-4 months, and it's not quite 4 months.

That is fantastic! Hopefully ours comes that fast. Thor rep said it was 4-5 lead time now so we wait.

Many dealers have overnight spots and full hookups to allow you to stay at or near the dealership. I recommend spending a night or two to give you plenty of time to try as much as you can. It may be the only time the dealer service department is responsive in a timely manner. Unless you are experienced, I suggest you spend a few hundred extra on hiring a certified, local inspector. They can't check everything but know what and how to test efficiently. Plus they'll probably do a better job than the dealers pdi person in telling you how things work.

wow, 6 months, I bought my 2017 AXIS new in San Diego in February of that year and they had better than 12 coaches on the lot along with all the trailers and larger diesel pushers, I have seen there is a run on new and used coaches, couple down the street just bought a new two axle travel trailer and had been dancing around the idea of making the plunge, turns out they ended up paying 20% more than if they had bought it a year earlier, then first night home it rained and the front window leaked, their first time with a RV, I know every one on this forum has had problems, some minor and some major but for most I think we are satisfied with making the purchase, I got a call from my dealer the other day and they wanted to know if I had any service issues or if I am not using it like I had planned if I would be interested in selling it back, they said they have an urgent need for new used coaches and will make a very generous offer to buy it back
