Cancelled order for Crossroads Hampton

We placed an order for a $50 K destination trailer on 10/30/2012 and were promised an expected arrival at our dealer of 12/31/2012. The order was placed at the dealer with the factory rep on the phone.

Well that didn't happen and THEY still don't know when they can produce the trailer. To add to the situation THEY say there will be changes but have no pictures.

I cancelled that order last evening.

This is the information that the dealer from Crossroads got when he asked for more information:

"We don't have an in depth list of all the changes to the Hampton, so I will highlight the major changes.

Reduced height by 6"
Took out an 1 1/2 width on each side
Took out the window above the armoire in the bedroom Took out curtains Took out cabinet doors on armoire in bedroom Changed ceiling back to white vs the wood grain Removed hardwood lambriquines Removed fluorescent lighting and went back to pancake lights Removed glass accent No maple cabinets

Sink covers in kitchen
Doors to the book case area
Decorative backsplash
Added additional switching
New flooring
New exterior appearance (see pictures I sent you) Fiberglass will also be a two tone exterior"

We did not get the pictures that he mentions.

We will not consider anything Crossroads but are there other destination/extended stay trailers produced by a Thor Company?

I have no doubt that Crossroads has:

1. no interest in producing this unit or
2. no interest in my little purchase or
3. no interest in the business from this very sizeable dealer
4. or they don't know what they are doing.
5. or a combination of the above.

My only experience with Crossroads is this debacle but I trust that most of those of you that are on this forum have totally different experience.

I wish it were otherwise. My wife really wanted this rv.

Yes it seems the new management running Crossroads is intent on doing the same with them as they did with Carriage. It is a shame because Crossroads use to be one of the best in the business.

Hi Pat - Sorry about your experience...

I know that some other Thor companies sell destination trailers. Breckenridge, Dutchmen, keystone and Heartland all have some listed on their websites

Here's some links:
