Downsized to new Four Winds 24F

On our first trip in our new class c coach. Traded our Windsport 32n for full wall slide 24F four Winds. Only "bugs" discovered so far are sensors on gray tank and propane tank. First trip towing our Sonic was 303 miles and took 33 gallons.haven't been able to weigh it yet to see how we are doing for load distribution on each axle. Hope to next week. It drove pretty good stock. May add a rear track bar.So far we like it and are happy with the Four Winds.

Congratulations!! We downsized to a 24F ourselves this year. 2500 miles on it so far, and we are very pleased. Last short trip was 350 miles through mountain roads with lots of construction stops combined with some city stop and go traffic as well. Computer showed 9.6 MPG for the trip. It's a great little coach, huh?

towing?

Were you towing when you were getting your computer calibrated mileage?

Congratulations on the new rig!
How tough was the downsizing process?

No. Towing in those same mountains I get almost 1 mpg less

Not as bad as we thought. Only thing I miss is the front chairs turning around. I guess we could order the base used in the Quantum series and fix that issue. Same basic floor plan as Vegas 25.6. My wife wanted front doors to get in and out. We had a class c and she missed that in our Windsport. We are quite amazed by all the storage in this small class c. We noticed it is a softer more comfortable ride than the Windsport. Also no loud noise on the all bridge joints that we had with the class A.The stabilizers work great to keep you from rocking while parked and work easy. Haven't missed jacks yet.

We have the Chevy chassis version. Quiet ride compared to many Class As. Good driving characteristics as well. We went from a 37' TT to this now it's just us and the dogs. Got rid of a lot of "junk" we had in the TT. Storage on this 24F is quite good for the size like you said. Put lots of stuff in it, then pulled it all back out to see what I really needed.

just got back home from another camping trip. It seems that 9.0 mpg is what our 350 Ford chassis is getting while towing. It is running at 2200 rpm at 60 mph on the highway. Must be using the same gear ratio as the 450 in our 2017 chassis. It rides better and quieter than our Windsport. So far with 1000 miles on the odometer it has been averaging 2+ mpg better than the Windsport with a five speed transmission. That is a 30% improvement in mpg. I'm hoping that will move up to 9.5-10 when engine gets some more miles on the odometer.

I would miss not having a comfy chair or couch to sit on. That's where the rotating captain chairs would be handy.

lazy boy recliner

We have a lazy boy recliner we take with us and when the slide goes out we have plenty of room for it. I put it in the door way when I bring the slide in for travel. Since we have the two front doors this works good for us.

Well this is possible, just did it in my new 24F. it is amazing and opens up the space even more than it it was.

Ours also rotate... and Thor even included some extra base cushions, so that you don't feel as if you're sitting right down on the floor!

You have a 24F and they offered the swivels from factory? Post some pics of those cushions!

Edited: saw you have a 29, yeah they dont offer swivels on the 24F, the dealer I bought from said it couldn't be done. Came home and had them installed 20 minutes a pop.

Where did you get the swivel base from to convert your captain chairs?

Sportsmobile.com

No manual, it is straightforward. 4 bolts on the bottom and 4 nuts on the top.
