First RV and ready for adventure

I bought an used 2016 Thor Freedom Elite 29FE and I'm ready to travel the US.
I also have loads of questions, as I've never experienced anything like this.
Where do I start?

Start with the 'Search' button above... You can find a wealth of information here from questions already asked...

And of course feel free to ask your own... Plenty of people here willing to help out.

Spending a little time learning about your unit will help a lot later when you run into issues...

Personally, I find the search built into vBulletin (the forum software that this site uses) hit and miss, so I often use Google searches on forums. For those not familiar with searching only on one site with Google, here's how you do it.

Let's say you want to do a Google search on this forum for the term freedom or maybe freedom problems, here's how you would do it.

Code:
site:http://www.thorforums.com/forums freedom
site:http://www.thorforums.com/forums freedom Problems
You would type that full line into either the Google search page or the area at the top of Chrome (might work on other browsers) where you can enter a website address. by adding site: before the http, it will restrict the google search to only that one website, or forum in this case.

Then, let's say you want to only focus on recent posts, you can limit the time frame. When the google search results come up, you can click "tools" and then change "any time" to the time frame you want.

Congratulations and welcome.

Another good place to start is Ed's crowd sourced owner's manual for Axis/Vegas units. There are enough common things between the Axis/Vegas units and Freedom Elite units (and RVs in general) that a lot of it will be relevant:

Well, I just found out yesterday mine had two black water tank valves... Something they forgot to tell me when I picked the RV up. Just took me 15 minutes to find out and a lot of water...

Right now my most concerning problems are the rear view camera that is not working. All I get is a "No signal" warning and the awning that doesn't close easily. It either takes me 1h to retract it, or I keep pressing "extend" so it rolls backwards.

Then I have questions about the inverter, but not sure if I should ask them here or in the main forum?

Thanks for make your knowledge available.

I also have a 29FE; from what I've been able to determine the Inverter runs the following electrical outlets:
Living room TV (located in the ceiling behind the TV)
Outdoor TV (located in the outside compartment)
Bedroom TV (located in the picture cabinet that lifts up above the drawers)

Yes, and the outside refrigerator too.

Does that mean that you have the inverter on all the time?
Do you get the green light in your inverter meaning it's connected to the shore?

I wish someone with the know-how would start an "Ed's" type Manual for the Challenger!

Welcome

Congratulations.

The first place my wife and I went before the motor home was with a 33' travel trailer. I highly recommend this place if you like the beach:

Fort Pickens Campground, west of Pensacola Beach. Aside from the educational benefits (This is where they held Geronimo after he was captured), we usually get lot 40 in Loop A. This lot is 200 yards from the most pristine beach you have ever seen and it is never crowed. You also have the Blue Angles flying over several times during your stay. Close to Peg Leg Pete's, great seafood and shopping mall in Pensacola.

Have fun and let us know how you are doing.
