Freezing Cold Dashboard - Mercedes
My wife and I purchased our 2017 Mercedes-based Thor Chateau in August of 2017, used it a bit locally and put into storage in October. On our trip from Western New York to Florida in February of this year, we found extremely cold air (outside air) blowing into the cab from the area around the radio itself and the top of the dashboard immediately behind the radio. Same thing again this Fall on our trip to the West Coast. We used masking tape as a very temporary fix in both cases.
We were advised by the dealer (Camping World) that this was a Mercedes-only service item. Recently I took the unit into Mercedes Benz of Rochester for routine service and asked them to check out the cold air situation. They couldn't have been better. A complete disassembly of the dashboard was required and the service tech found that two large foam plugs had either been blown out of place in the internal ductwork, or incorrectly installed in the first place. Mercedes warranty covered the whole process.
