New Owner 2016 Axis 25.3

Hi all,

We are SO excited to be the proud new owners of a 2016 Thor Axis 25.3. In the past, we have owned a small, VERY small (16ft) TT. We did enjoy it and took it on a couple long road trips. We have also owned a 5th wheel (I didn't want to drive that) and our latest was an Arctic Fox truck camper. But with two kids who are growing like weeds. We decided to go spend a day walking around the local CW and see what really fit us best. Instead of just looking for the best deal. We had never considered a class A. We definitely wanted something under 30', beds for all four of us & forward facing seats for kids booster seats. We are super excited to pickup the Axis next week. We already have two long trips planned in it.

Thank You.

We pick it up on Wednesday. And we are set to head out on a trip on Sunday. Any tips? I wish we had a bit more time to get settled into it before heading out but we are due in NY for a funeral. My husband will be installing front and rear sway bars, upgrade the shocks to Bilstein, and it already had a Safe-T stabilizer on it. Also, adding seat belts to the dinette for the kids car seats.

Future mods will be adding solar, inverter, & tpms.

Where is the CW located...you are dealing with.
You might check under the dinette for seat belts....
When you pick it up, make sure you do a complete PDI using both power sources and make sure all applicances/air/heat work properly...everything !!

Welcome to the forum & congratulations on the new Axis. Here is a link to the Axis/Vegas specific owners' manual I compiled to augment the anemic generalized manual Thor provides. It provides information on how the systems work, some troubleshooting, tips and recommendations. It also has a series of checklists that you might fine helpful.

Thank you all so much!

Vkb ~ The CW is in Lowell, AR. Yes, great advice. We will make sure to check all the systems. It does have the lap belts at the dinette. However, we wanted regular shoulder/lap belts. We looked at a class c that actually had that at the dinette, but it was a 31ft. And we wanted to stay under 30; as well as, liked the class A better. We have two children that are in booster seats & so they require the shoulder/lap belts

axisearl ~ It is a 2016 & we will be the 2nd owners

bevedfelker ~ Thanks! That will certainly be helpful.
