Hello

Well we finally did it! We bought our first RV. Well we sign the papers on Thurs and take possession on Sat. It's a 2016 Thor Axis 25.2. I joined to hopefully get some tips, advice and maybe make some new friends.

Welcome JMyers! We are also newbe’s to the Motorhome crowd. This site is full of very knowledgeable people and I’m sure any questions you have will get a great response. They have have been a tremendous help to us.

My advice is, as soon as you can, load up the new coach and get on the road and have some fun

Let me know if you get over toward Michigan.

Bill and Penny

Welcome to the forum! We bought our 25.2 new. We've had some great adventures, seen a lot of this great country and met a whole bunch of nice folks.
Happy Trails!

Hello

Welcome to the forum and a wonderful way of life! Best tip I got when we started is to take one or two short local trips before you try anything more “interesting”. There is a LOT to learn and to practice. And (unfortunately) there are likely to be a few bugs to work out with your coach. Don’t let any of it bother you. The learning is part of the fun! All the best.

Welcome.
Do you think the snow will be gone in a couple weeks to travel? LOL
You are in lake effect area, Buffalo usually is buried in snow this time of year.
I guess you could start a thread on upgrading a snowplow and chains to your rig! JK,

LOL!!! We are actually north of Buffalo and in what I call the "sweet spot". When Buffalo and south are getting hammered we usually only get a few inches. It really depends on how the wind is blowing. No joke! Most times south of Buffalo gets hit hard. But there are times when the wind blows across the lake just right and we do get hit. But we are tough. We can deal with it. Always have lots of food in the house, drive 4x4 trucks, a generator we could run the whole house off of and a wood burning fireplace and a good supply of wood.

I also want to say THANKS for all the WELCOMES!!! This feels like a very friendly and welcoming site.

Our first RV was a 2017 Thor Axis 25.2 as well. I thought it would be big enough for my wife and I but I was wrong. I'm 6'6" and wife is 5'9". The queen bed was a little too small. After 9 months we got a 2018 Windsport 29m. Love it!!! There were so many things I liked better on the Axis. The large back storage bay was awesome. The slid e out spice rack, big jack knife sofa, big awning and easy to manuver. I like a full side slide out and if the Axis had one I'd probably would have kept it. Enjoy your new toy. I'll tell you a Roadmaster rear stabilizer will make a BIG DIFFERENCE in handling!!! Bob
