THOR #14921
Arrow Greetings & Salutations from Gold Canyon AZ

Hello,

Long time user of forums here, but new to ThorForums.
Wife (Dar), dog (CoCoa) and I will be taking delivery of a used 2017 Thor Vegas 25.5 next week. We are hoping that it is a good coach and not a lemon like our last coach (99 Damon Ultrasport). At least it has a clean CarFax, but that’s not saying a lot. We will be towing our 2015 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited behind the Vegas.
I’m semi-retired and run a small Fabrication shop during the 5 warm months of the year up in South-Eastern Minnesota. I build and support race cars, street rods and off-road vehicles.
Our home in AZ is a Cedar Creek Cottage. I spend much of the winter playing with RC Aircraft and my latest love - Drone Based Photography..
-
Dar spends her time playing with fibers... Anything to do with knitting, crocheting and sewing (particularly quilting) and she’s a happy girl.
-
CoCoa is an almost 11 year old female Maltese that is the best traveler in the world and our dearest friend.

Welcome here!! you sure have the ability and experience to "pre-trip" your purchase and repair anything you don't catch. I'm a drone freak here also...commercially. It's my "retirement business" and I do mostly contract work with high-end homes at the beach with realtors, municipality inspections of towers and a little work with large acreage developments for GC's. The drone will be a huge addition to photo ops when we travel out West. The P4 model I have can fly over 2 miles away with 4K video. It's a lot of fun.

Welcome to the forum and wishing you safe travels. Your photo of the Moon Logo, reminds me of 50 yrs ago as a kid having no cell phones, computers etc. What did we do? Collect Stickers! I was lucky as a kid.
I lived a block away from the largest secret in NASCAR History, of course at 8 yrs old I was just collecting stickers. Moon,STP,Wynn's etc. and if you were Lucky the Original Roadrunner sticker. A friend of mine wrote a book about the "GO FAST FACTORY" in Griffith IN. Ray Nichels
I Think you would enjoy this. Also my Son chasesdronepics has Shots of our vacation and Many awesome photos of Purdue University. Enjoy!

Thanks!
I’m a certificated private pilot and will be getting my FAA-Part 107 out of the way soon. Hopefully to pick up a few dollars. My current drone is a DJI Mavic 2 Zoom. I’d like to eventually get an Inspire 2 or something like it but that’s a ways down the road.. The M2Z seems to be working pretty well. I can do 4k video, but so far my u3 memory cards from SanDisk all seem to be too slow..

I did not know Ray, but knew of him and the great work he did. I was associated for a short time with Smokey Yunick (basically he was a mentor to many of us) and bought out a bunch of Pontiac “goodness” from Mickey Thompson through him way back in early 70’s..

Yep...the drones are the cheapest part of this program for sure.Had to buy new MSI GT73VR-GRF Titon Pro laptop at $7K for the 4K videos. Just bought another Samsung, Class 10, 64 PRO-Plus micro SDXC card...read speeds of 100MB/s. Nothing cheap about the drone program. I did pass Part 107 last year but haven't updated website yet. Most people don't even know what it is.
