2018 Thor Windsport

Hi, I am not new to RVing but I am new to this platform. Believe me...every year and every season I learn more and more about this 'hobby'. We just finished to unwinterize our unit and during the last walk around the rig before we completed for the day I noticed this hissing noise coming from behind the water heater and behind the sink. Everything was in the OFF position. I cannot figure out what/why and if this was drawing power. I never noticed this before and cannot tell if this is an anomaly. Is this supposed to be like and/ or for how long this should continue?

Your comments are welcome.

Thanks!

T REX

Probably not a normal situation if “everything was off”. Other than the propane burner water heaters don’t make much noise. If the water was connected to a shore supply or your pump was on you might look for a leak. I hope that’s not what you’ve got!

Not sure about your problem but welcome to the forum. Hopefully not a leak.

Welcome aboard!
Is this hissing noise coming from the Hot Water Heater compartment outside? perhaps the heater plug is not tight enough and the heater is bleeding off built up air or water pressure?
Or if inside is one are one of the winterization valves on the HWH partially open? Once again bleeding off pressure?
I don't know how you de-winterize, I leave my HWH valves in winter position (don't want pink crap in the heater) and hook up the air compressor to the city water inlet. I build up around 40 psi and open valves staring farthest away in the bathroom and blow the pink crap out of the lines, working back to the kitchen sink last.
There is plenty of hissing and pressure bleeding off while I do this.
Good luck with the search.
