👋 Hello!!!!! New here and new to the RV world. My husband and I have been talking a lot lately and have weighed pros vs cons and have decided together that it would be better for our family financially and for other reasons as well to live full time in an RV instead of struggling to find a place to rent and pay an astonishing amount each month.

Welcome to the forum. That's a plan, but make sure you take into account where you are going to park that RV nightly. RV parks range from $20 to $100+ a night. Some places don't allow overnight parking of RVs (some do). There's sometimes Walmarts, Cracker Barrels, etc. Depending on the size of the family you can't go more than a few days without dumping the tanks (Fee required if not staying there) and refilling the fresh water tank.

So make sure you take all the variables into account before deciding that this plan would be better financially.

So many questions. Are you anchored to a job or school?

If you are limited, many RV parks have semi permanent RVs that have year round residents. That might be a workable option. Most of those parks have a board somewhere in the social hall or near the mailboxes with For Sale ads. Many will meter and charge your electric use. You'll have many neighbors really close.

If you're mobile, you'll need to budget fuel and tires, besides what was already mentioned. There are tons of happy full-timers, but this lifestyle is not for everyone.

BTW, rents are low in small towns out in the boonies. You might consider that.

Add repairs as you build your budget.

Welcome to the forum. That's great advice you've received so far. Also, consider what to do if you need to have repairs done at a shop or dealer somewhere.
