Hello to all,

I bought a 24ft 2013 Thor Chateau two years ago, pre-owned, it's just me and my dog now, we go for short trips about the Atlantic Provinces, plus to Florida every now and then. When my husband was alive we took more trips but I am just getting my feet under me and trying to learn how to care for my rig as well as trying to be brave enough to travel. My dog seems to handle things more in stride. I'm now trying to learn how to winterize this as it is too costly to take it to a service area to get it done. I like it, handles well on the road, no tow, glad I found this site, have been devouring the information here. Thank you
Oh, I'm a retired RN, which is no help I know with winterizing..

Welcome!

Winterizing isn't that difficult, once you figure it out. Start with your owner's manual. If you didn't get one, do a web search for your coach.

You will likely find a video on YouTube that will show you how to winterize in general, but it won't show you where the valves are on your specific rig. The plumbing varies with different models.

Some of us had to learn the hard way about forgetting to drain the water heater! Lessons like that don't have to be repeated to be learned!

Sure it is. It's like starting an IV.

There is a group of women who RV. RVW has chapters all across the country which might interest you in your travels; sometimes it just helps to know that there are others out there. Also, any number of RN members

Safe travels,

Susan

Thank You Susan,

Good to know for when I get my feet under me, for now taking short trips to get used to my wee rig, my dog seems to be enjoying my foibles...
