Hello from East TN

I have just signed on to this forum. My wife and I just purchased a 2015 ACE 30.1. We previously have had travel trailers but it was becoming to much work for me setting up and breaking down, we also wanted the option of hooking up our trailer and taking our Polaris Slingshot with us, I also purchased a dolly to take our car if we want. I am not new to motorhomes as we started our camping journey by taking my parents motorhomes back in the day. I look forward to getting help with any issues and contributing to the group.

Welcome to the Forum. Plenty of knowledge here to help you with your ACE if needed.

Welcome aboard! We bought a 2015 ACE 30.1 a few years ago. A nice upgrade from a class C.

Lots to learn about your rig. Make sure you know how everything works & practice using it at or near home. Check the date codes on the tires, Most motorhomes will age out the tires before they wear out the tread. I bought a Tire Minder TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System). It won't prevent a blow out but it can alert one to unusual tire pressures & temperatures (low or high).

If you go to Thor Owner Resource and have your VIN handy you can get owners manuals and other info about your ACE.

Here's my introduction thread showing some of the 'improvements' I've made. (can't leave well enough alone...) https://www.thorforums.com/forums/f3...1-a-28947.html

And, look into the CHF (Cheap Handling Fix). Apparently Ford shipped the chassis with the sway bars (F & R) mounted in the soft position. Relocating the sway bar links stiffens them. It made a noticeable improvement in our rigs reaction when being passed by large trucks on the highway.

Welcome. We are also in East Tennessee about 20 miles from Knoxville.

You might want to remove the "still looking" from your sig.

Thank you, a lot of good info. We were lucky with this one as it has always been stored inside, there was an extra sway bar added under the back but will need to check the front. Tires are two years old and it has new batteries. I am with you on the tire monitors as I am adding them today along with some snap pads and changing things is kind of my thing as I have already upgraded the refrigerator to a 12 volt and cut in two pull out drawers under the booth. Our (my wife's) biggest issue is this raised toilet.

She is the short one, my part of it is trying to figure why Thor would do something so stupid (my personal opinion) that someone would need a stool to sit on a toilet.

I'd have to take some measurements to be sure but I think the toilet is mounted above the wheel well.

That, and the wiring, plumbing, and furnace ducting that run under that platform the toilet sits on.

We picked up one of these that fit between the toilet and the shower (in our floor plan) when folded.

Something similar may work for you.

Cove Lake is in your backyard. We have camped there a number of times.

Bob,

I lived near Clinton Tn for a number of years while we rebuilt the old SEC paper mill into a recycled/wood chip paper mill to make roofing materials. Worked for Tamko and was the maintenance supervisor at the mill.

Really enjoyed my time there and later lived outside Chattanooga for several more years later on.

Beautiful country and we still get back to visit the Gatlinburg area.

My son owns part of a Chevrolet dealership in Clinton. Purchased our last two vehicles there. Worked in Oak Ridge since 1977.

Live in Walland. Have Vegas 24.3 2021. Looking to sell, don't use enough. Enjoy trips to state parks in Tennessee.

Hello, we are in East Tennessee also.
About 70 miles from Knoxville and 10 miles from the TN end of the Cherohala Skyway. 1/2 mile from NC border up on our mtn.
