Hello. Just now joining the forums. I finally bought my first RV, a 2019 Thor Windsport that had been used as a rental unit, back in Feb 2020. This after about 20 years of dreaming. Now just trying to get all the bugs worked out of it. I have been reading the forums, and see a lot of great info. I have a tow dolly that I use to tow my Kia Sorento.
Welcome aboard and congrats on the new to you Windsport!
Which model did you purchase?
We also bought a rental unit this time around. We had two previous motorhomes we purchased new and had to work all the kinks out ourselves. This time around we bought a unit that the dealer had been renting out for a season and figured they would have had to keep it in shape to be able to rent it. Knock wood we have had no issues other than we missed the damaged over air antenna at the PDI and I had to eat that replacement cost and the black tank needed a thorough cleaning ( it clogged) as renters don't know (or care) too much about how to properly use a marine toilet. As we bought this one used for our peace of mind we purchased an extended warranty as well.
Good luck & Safe Travels!
I bought the 34J. Pretty roomy. Of course, had it delivered just after all the lockdowns started, and we were too afraid to travel at first, so did not get it out at all till the last month of the 90 day warrantee. So we have had to fix things. Just replaced the residential fridge and the batteries. Fortunately, the old and new fridge fit through the door after some disassembly. Hopefully, knock on wood, we have the major issues fixed. Getting ready for a 2 week trip so I guess I will find out.
welcome to the forum..does not hurt to camp overnight at home and try everything so no issues on the road..
