2018 Thor 24.1 must use

Well we have been reading these forums for quite a while. We have had 6 pages and a new windshield. Black water tank fell, fridge not running on gas, cabinet handles and closing, both inner drive wheels kept going flat bad seal and loose extenders, driver and passenger windows would not close lock open, bunk fell thank god while driving, leaking window by bed, shower not sealed, grease stain in batgroom, etc. Thank god for Collier RV in Rockford Illinois. We arranged for free oil changes for first year as part of deal. So we prearranged every oil change for first 90 days. Each time we bring our list and a week later we hit the road. We did this from March 16 - Present - currently 18964 miles.and we are packing up again to leave TODAY
My suggestion is to put miles on your rig, keep a log, get a good dealer and drive the heck out of it for first 90 days

RV in the shop too much?

In the first year shop time is absolutely unavoidable. As much as we have all hated spending tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars on RV's we all now know we are going to the shop in that first year no matter what. The RV industry is nothing like other consumer product producers. Ford or GM would never put out such poor quality cars because nobody would buy them. In the RV industry they all produce an equally poorly made product so we all buy them anyway. If an RV builder started building RV's with the quality material and workmanship to make it the absolute best, we couldn't afford to buy them. It's a house on wheels and driving your house down the road will create problems. Most first year issues are builder issues and need to go in for warranty repair/replacement. Once you get past that first year all the bugs are worked out and you get to start actually enjoying your purchase.
