As mentioned take videos, take notes, take a roll of blue painters tape to mark anything to be repaired, push every button/pull every knob, look over/under/in between everything, don't assume ASK, take as long as necessary to inspect EVERYTHING til you're comfortable that you understand how, don't be rushed by anyone, then go sign the paperwork & then drive off into the sunset to enjoy the experience.

Rule Number 2
If it's not in writing the dealer never said it. Get every promise/upgrade in writing.

Rule Number 3
Don't let the finance guy at the dealership talk you into all the extra "warranties and tire insurance garbage". They are all seriously overpriced and you can buy cheaper on your own.

Rule Number 4
Don't but the dealer sold "paint Protection" it's way way way over priced and not worth what they sell it for. You can obtain that service cheaper on your own.

Rule Number 5
Spend the night at the dealership camping in your new RV before you complete all the paperwork and drive away. Check everything, use everything, play with everything. You will find all types of little issues. You need to have them ALL fixed before you sign and leave.

Welcome aboard the Thor train.
The issue with rule #1 is that, unlike automobiles, if you didn't buy the rv from the dealer you're taking to for warranty work they ARE NOT obligated to do it. If they do agree to do your warranty work you'll most likely be put at the bottom of the list behind those that bought from that dealer. I agree you could possibly save substantially buying across the country, but may also have to take it back across the country for warranty needs or drive by to see it sit for months waiting it's turn.
The Ford chassis, or whatever make it may be, can be taken to their respective dealers for warranty, but the rv portion must taken to your dealer or one that may agree to do it.

On the other hand, unlike the auto industry, many or most Independent repair shops are authorized to do warranty work on RVs. Typically they will do better work, have more knowledgeable and experienced techs and are more convenient than he selling dealer. Dealers are more interested in selling and their heartís just not in repairs. Independent shops on the other hand have to do a good job to stay in business. Find one nearby and establish a relationship with them and youíll be miles ahead of most folks.
