Hello & Venting

Hello! I have a Thor Axis 25.2 & have traveled all over. I need to vent. I love everything about it, but for one item.

I do not understand the logic of putting a nonfunctional windshield wiper control on the column. That is my only gripe about my Thor.

I toured the Elkhart plant & no one could explain it to me.

That's the way the chassis leaves Ford for use on a truck. Thor has to install a bigger motor to operate the windshield wipers on such a large windshield. The stock motor could not handle the bigger wipers and winshield hence separate control to operate it.

That makes perfect sense. I had to use my wipers a lot over the last week and I really came to appreciate the way the control is designed and operates. The only complaint that I have is the positioning, the long reach to get to it and the lowness of it.

I agree. I have not been able to do it without glancing over and I do not like taking my eyes off the road. Thank you for the feedback.

Some of the early Axis/Vegas units do not have a wiper control on the steering column (apparently at one point that may have been available from Ford). I'm pretty sure ours is one; haven't looked in a while.

Welcome Marc!
You are correct that it is goofy, and awkward. Keep a coat of RainX on the windshield, and you won't be turning the wipers on as often. Simple, but very effective.
