Hello from Vinny & Chris

Recently upgraded from a 1999 Holiday Rambler to a 2014 Hurricane. We are part time RVers and looking forward to many more years of fun travel.

I am thinking about purchasing your sister ship, a 2014 Windsport 34f. My only concern is the unit has 68000 miles on it. The inside looks great and the outside will look better after it is cleaned up. We go for the operations inspection next week. We did purchase a 2 year Good Sam Warranty/Service Plan, which includes tires. The tires are Goodyear and they are one year old. Do you have any recommendations, anything we should test before purchase. It has a washer/dryer that my wife will test before purchase. Thanks

Hi Rick, I have only been RVing for a couple of years, but have a good amount of automotive experience which helps quite a bit with our motorhome. With that kind of mileage I would check the underside for extensive rust on critical components like the exhaust system, leaf springs, steering components and fender/compartment supports and braces. I found that problem on my 1999 Holiday Rambler. Also, have someone or yourself check the roof and sidewalls (inside and out) for leaks, open seems etc. Beyond that I would have a knowledgeable mechanic inspect the drivetrain. Also, make sure all of the motorhome facilities are in working order.

Good luck!

Great! I had started a list of things to inspect, but you mentioned some things that I had not thought about. I will let you know how everything goes. Thanks
