Hey folks - new guy here
As a new Hurricane owner, the info on this forum has been incredibly helpful. Appreciate all the tip & tricks & fails & learns that I've read about on this forum so far.
My 2020 Hurricane 34J is new to me, with 19k miles on it. Looks as if the previous owner just drove the heck out of it in a short period of time, and did little to no maintenance. (But i do see some receipts where they had Thor warranty work done to solve some "fresh off the lot" issues.)
In the short time I've had it, i did the CHF, settled on decent tire pressures front and back... and then drove it 1250 miles from FL to NH. Once back to NH, I traded out the Axxera radio for a Eonon GA2185 (install wasn't simple but also not horrible if you can solder...), solved a stuck black water tank sensor (yuk) and have ordered a few items to address other things such as a leaky passenger side frameless window, surge protection and interior gadgets to reduce rattles and noise while driving.
So much more to do, but I'm a gadget guy and this is fun. My wife loves decorating our mobile homes like our stationary home and this is no different. In a short time she's made it ours. - As a previous class C owner, I'm aware that RV maintenance is a never ending task; something is always going to break... you just hope it isn't something you can't fix on the road. As my wife and i jokingly ask before every trip: "what is going to fall or fly off the RV on this trip?" Inevitably, something always does.
Anyway, i have a long way to go on to making this RV ours... and i'll be sure to leverage the experiences & wisdom of those with real-world experience on this forum.
again, thanks for all the incredibly valuable insight so far!
-Dave
