Hi All, new to Motor Coaches

Just put money down on a 2022 Thor Omni XG32. Not new to RVing but new to motor coaches. I have been using a large Momentum fifth wheel and decide to downsize. My PDI and walk through is on the June 22 and looking for any advice on doing a thorough walk through

Welcome to the forum!
About thr PDI:
Make sure that they take their time, and explain everything to YOUR satisfaction
Make sure that every system works as it should.
This will be your last chance to,walk away from the deal. If you're not satisfied: don't hesitate to pull the plug

But I hope that everything goes better than planned.
Good luck!

An app called
Rvchecklist.

Run the slides and turn all knobs so many times you're embarrassed.
Check the dates on the tires.
Start early in the morning.
Anything they won't fix/diagnose/order the same day...walk away.
Pay for a couple of hours labor to have a tech right there beside you.
Rattle and wiggle everything, especially roof stuff.
No culture in the universe has ever said to take a salesman word,

Ducky is right. Salesmen have great smiles...

...and the honesty of a Pilitician seeking re-election.

Based on structural issues others have found plan to run the leveling system a couple times. Search for posts by Judge on this issue.

Also, research the web on slide issues with Thor. Understand, before you sign, what you may have in store after driving off the lot.

Thanks for the input

Thank you all for the input. Greatly appreciated.
Rvchecklist sounds like a good idea
And double check slides and auto level
Never had a on-demand hot water so will be checking it out as well

Read the warranty paperwork and understand the limitations. There are more loopholes that benefit the manufacturer than you might think.

Next question is about extended warranties
what is available for extended warranties?
I am thinking of contacting ford for a warranty on the chassis and maybe a service plan
What have others purchased?

An extended warranty is an odds bet..
If a $15,000 bill for an engine is devastating, buy the warranty.
If you'd need to make payments on a $1,500 ac unit, make payments on the warranty.
We used to never be without a warranty.
Now that we have reserves I no longer buy them.
And
I no longer have to be involved with the warranty drama of
'Is it covered'.
But
I believe they add greatly to private party resale value.
As far as carriers you'll read good and bad about them all.

Disclaimer:
I have a warranty on my 24.1
It came with a 7year 100,000 mile all the boxes checked warranty.
It was $75ish to transfer it to us(our coach was less than 3 months used when we bought it.) I might have been able to do the transfer and capture the original $7,500 they paid. I did not.

Someone on this forum paid $20,000 for their extended warranty....
We don't know if they financed it for 240months....

Do some research and don’t buy an extended warranty until one or two months before the Thor warranty expires.

Service plans from Ford are good. First locate a Ford dealer that can service the motorhome. You might find the closest is a hundred miles away.

Welcome to the Forum.
Check it out thoroughly and make sure everything works, have the salesman go thru everything. We purchased our XG32 last year from Lazy Days in Tampa and it took a few hours to go thru everything, not our 1st motor home but a lot of changes between our 2016 and this 2020, we also spent the night at Lazy Days and was able to use everything and found a couple of small things that they fixed before we left.
These are great coaches and you will like it, they all have minor issues and some have bigger issues, just ask here about them and work through them.
The full wall slides have had an issue with the front cap separation's some not all, but I have not heard of any of the XG32 having that issue and after a year I have not noticed any issues with the separation and I keep an eye on the area.
Enjoy.

The only thing I can add is to video the walk thru if you can. It's hard to remember everything in detail when there's so much.
