Good day to all. I am in the process of purchasing a 2017 mini cooper manual transmission in order to tow.
Does anyone have experience towing this model?
Do you just put in neutral or is there another step to complete?

Follow the instructions that are in the owner's manual. They were put there by the folks who know exactly how it should be done.

The Owners Manual is normally the ultimate resource about flat towing but in the case of Minis, it doesn't even address recreational vehicle towing. But in the Towing section under manual transmissions it does say:

Do not exceed a towing speed of 30 mph/50 km/h.
Do not exceed a towing distance of 30 miles/50 km

So that's a big consideration if you're still in warranty.

The only other good source of info would be the Service Techs at the Dealerships.

Thanks, i have seen some being towed. I am told that it is possible as long as they are manual transmission. I am just not sure what all the operations are. I will keep looking
