New 2018 Thor Hurricane 34J Owner on board

Just picked up my new Hurricane 34J this past Saturday. Wife and I are very excited.

We upgraded from a Jayco Octane T31B that we only kept for two years. Way to many logistics for hookup, setup and tear down for me. I am really excited not to have to set up in the rain because my rig is too long to fit the run. Unhooking a bumper hitch system in pouring rain was one of my drivers for the conversion.

The other was the fact that my wife would never feel comfortable pulling a 10k lb trailer, maneuvering through traffic and obstacles. Time to stretch our legs and get a little further from home now.

My wife will be driving us on this excursion...my first time being a passenger! Trial by fire! I'm usually the only one driving pulling a toyhauler. Wish us success...every little bit helps!

Very nice rig. I was ready to sign contract for 26' trailer to tow behind my 2015 RAM 2500 C.C. and wife said no way would she drive that length vehicle set up. Ended up with 24' Class C. She'll probably drive it at a minimum. Can't figure out that thought process.

Very nice looking rig. Cant say the same for the snow. You are correct about the setting up on the bumper pull. Motor home is 5 minutes from backing in to Miller Time. Enjoy.

We bought our 34J in February. I had a broken knee cap so my wife did the test drive and the first bunch of miles. She does great.

My Wife's nick name is Lead Foot Lizzie. I've got to stay awake and alert if she is driving. Has tendency to drive everything like she's on a race track.

I know right! She's a little apprehensive, but she very competitive. So I'm sure this won't last. She found the camp site for this weekend. She's excited...but just doesn't want to hear me driving from the passenger seat. I'll keep quiet!LOL

Congrats on the new rig! We got our 34J last May and the wife drives a little more each trip. Pulling the Toad or not does not really seem to matter to her. Like slowpokes3r, she's a bit on the competitive side... Only thing she has not really gotten use to is how wide it is. She likes to drive too close to the ditch for my nerves sometime, maybe the problem is me . Have fun!
