just took delivery of the new motorhome

My wife and I are not new to RV-ing, we started out in 1975 with a Coachmen travel trailer and moved up until 1984 when we got out and got back into boating (we live in Florida)... yeah we have 37 foot Sea Ray on a lift in the backyard... but three years ago the RV bug hit and we bought a 2012 Rockwood 5th wheel that we towed with a 2012 F-250 (as they say size matters) all was well until last week when we bought a 2016 Thor Windsport 35C. Since the purchase we have been outfitting the coach and spending money just like outfitting a new boat. So far we have the tow dolly for our Ford Escape, a 150 psi compressor for tires, a spare for the dolly, a 50 Amp Voltage autoformer (this unit will raise incoming voltage by 10%, a must a Florida State Campgrounds that always have low voltage that your A/C unit can't tolerate), rear mud flap for the coach since we tow and so many other items I can't remember what they are. We have used the coach for 3 nights starting on the day it was delivered and by next week we will be on the road again.

Thanks for the good luck with the unit wishes. We have had out 5th wheel up in your area since the Pan Handle is know for the oysters. Since I grew up in the Maryland area I just had to try just about every restaurant that had fried oysters... and yes they were great. We have been in Florida since 1973 and try not to go back up north but from what I understand the oysters in Maryland are basically a dead industry.

Thanks for the oyster tip.... we lived in Las Vegas NV for 5 years but never made it up your way for some strange reason we always went south or into Utah and Colorado. Could have been the saying out west, people in Washington don't tan... they rust.

In western Washington mostly true! Central & Eastern WA they tan!
Come on up. We will direct you to the best oysters!

Enjoy Walt - same bug has us in its hold. Been sidelined for almost 2 months. Driving us a little wacko. We've got about 3 more weeks, then we'll be mobile enough to travel.

Travel safe and remember "The Journey Is The Destination".

Thanks for the email. As I said in my intro we used the coach starting the first day of delivery and since we have been home we have been on a spending spree. Things like a new tow dolly, spare tire for the dolly, 50 Amp voltage former, 150 psi air compressor, mud flap for towing, etc. By this time next week I hope to be back on the road hitting a few Florida State Parks and meeting up with friends we have met through RV-ing.

Best of luck with your new Hurricane 35C and have fantastic trips.

Thanks! What tow dolly did you end up purchasing? We are looking for one for our Jeep Renegade.

When we were on our second day after delivery we took a ride into Sarasota, FL. and stopped at Barry's trailers. He carries Master Tow dollies and after searching most website we found his price to be the best and he is almost local for us. We bought the 80 inch wide (77 is standard) so any vehicle in the future would fit although we currently tow a new Ford Escape and it fits very well. The dolly has the electric brakes and came with the tie-down basket straps. His price was $1,250 (plus Florida tax) while most others want $1,095 for a dolly without brakes or around $1,595+ with electric brakes. It's rated for 5.000 pound pull weight and 3,500 vehicle capacity. We towed the Escape home and the dolly tracked very well since it has the axel that can pivot slightly in turns. I have a friend up in the Orlando area and when he heard the price I paid he emailed me that the dealers in his area wanted $1,695 for the same trailer..... so I feel we did pretty good on value.

Hello from Alaska

My wife and I purchased a 2016 Miramar 34.2 in January, but just took delivery 6/2. I was not going to drive it up the Alcan in the winter. We drove it up and really enjoyed the conforts. I was at the dealer for 4 days getting problems fix, which they gave excellent customer service. While on the road, had to learn how to drive it and setting up the rig for camping. After making mistakes, started learning the leveler system, slideout and wastewater dumping. Currently, everything is working fine except for the Windshield wiper system, I have an appointment for the fix. I also have an appointment to check the alignment, then I will install steering stablizer.
The responses in these forums have been helpful and thank you for that.
