2020 Thor Axis

Hi,
I am wondering if anyone has installed or even knows if it can be done; and that is an exhaust fan over the stove??? There is nothing to pull the heat out, I can’t fry an egg without the fire alarm going off and it’s embarrassing.
Thank you, any and all suggestions appreciated.

Hello, welcome to the site.

Can't really help you with the fan: Our 2014 does have a fan over the stove.

You could get a fantastic fan put in the main vent--if you don't have one and put that on exhaust hi.

I would imagine it wouldn't be that difficult to put one in. The most cringeworthy part of that would be cutting the hole in the side of the RV.

Definitely can be done. Our 74 Tioga had one. Sometimes the microwave with vent fan can be vented outside vs back inside. I use the bedroom fan on high as our kitchen vent fan.

We need to know the model number of your rv.
If it's a 24.1 I think a vent could be easily added to the fridge vent on the right side of the stove.
Ambient air mixed with stove air wouldn't add a dangerous amount of heat.
But
Isn't there a roof vent in the centerline of the rv within reasonable proximity of the stove?

Thanks All Thor Axis 24.1 2020

Appreciate the responses. Yes there is a ceiling vent fan right behind and in between driver and passenger area. However it’s not close enough to have any affect of the stove.

2020 Thor Axis Venting

Hi Tilley, we also have a 2020 24.1. For some reason Thor only put the fantastic vent in the rear bedroom exhaust fan. The front vent is just the cheap mini fan. My plan was the change to a fantastic vent in front and see how much that improves it. I’m thinking by just opening the rear and turning on the front it could clear the stove area.

We don't use the stove so I haven't tried this brainstorm but how about a small fan pointed out through an open window next to the stove. They are cheap on Amazon about $12. If it works sure easier than moving ceiling fans or cutting holes.

2018 and later models eliminated the “over the cooktop” vent/fan in favor of:
> a large vented window behind kitchen sink & cooktop
> moved the convection oven from above the cooktop to below the counter

The roof fan now serves as the kitchen vent/fan.
