My knucklehead moment

I thought maybe folks would get a smile over this. Needed to winterize my coach tonight blew everything out going good. Added antifreeze to drains still going good. Wanted to drain excess from tanks. I have one of those portable tanks so I hook it up to drain the tanks. Open up black tank doesn’t drain CRAP I think hook up water thinking plugged add water not draining double crap. This is being done in the dark also. I think I am plugged up then the light comes on uncapped the vent on tank and whoosh. Three tank fulls later black tank is empty I am a knucklehead. Just cost me time and learned a lesson.

What vent cap? Black tanks have no vent caps.

Vent

The vent cap was on the portable tank if you don’t open the vent to let the air out water will not go in tank. The air in the tank will not compress to let the water in. Hence the whoosh sound when I open the vent water in black tank went into portable tank forcing air out quickly.
