Exclamation Need help with fresh water inlet question

I am helping a friend dewinterizing on her 2021 freedom Elite. We were able to get the water flowing, however, when we turn the pump on, water shoots out of the inlet. I have watched several videos showing the pressure stop piston but they all have small filters seated on a rubber grommet. She does not have one. Is there supposed to be one? Since the rig is brand new, you would think it would be much easier but the owners manual is very lacking.

Any help would be very much appreciated

possible stuck or bad check valve. Should have been identified during the PDI. Take it back to the dealer to have it checked under warranty.

I did Watch several videos on that subject. I stopped by an rv sales store yesterday. I was told it’s possibly due to calcium buildup and to push it in several times to dislodge the calcium. Will try that first. If that doesn’t work I will replace the valve.

Thank you for your help

Calcium buildup on a 2021 Coach are they real?

Good luck.

More likely a small piece of debris stuck in the valve. I’d try flushing it by running the water system on a city supply for a time. If that doesn’t work it might just be a bum valve. It’s new and it’s a cheaply made part and, as with all products, some go bad soon after manufacturing. Personally, I wouldn’t bother with a warranty appointment or claim. It’s an easy replacement and inexpensive as well. I carry a spare in my spares bag.
