Help Please:2015 THor Hurricane power awning

I am purchasing this 2015 Hurricane 31 s unit tomorrow and want to be sure that I am getting good information regarding this awning. It is a carefree awning and when it is extended, the two arms do not totally extend..about a 30 degree bend in each arm. Is this normal and correct or should they be completely extended?

The arms are bent and the air pistons are not fully extended when the awning is fully deployed. This is necessary to allow a smooth retraction and proper tension on the patio awning. The end of the extended awning has a 8" flap that should unfurl when the awning is fully deployed. If it has been rolled up for a month or more the flap may be stuck to the top of the awning.
