New Chateau owner as well

Hi there. We recently purchased a 28z. So far we’ve done a couple short trips and have been thrilled with the unit. My only issue thus far is that my kitchen faucet does not work when the slide out is closed. Is this normal or is the slide kinking a water line? Anyone run into this before, any suggestions?

My 28Z has a working sinking with slide in or out. I.m guessing kink in a line.

That’s what it sounds like. Should be an easy fix.

Just got my RV back from the dealership to have some warranty work done before it expired. No issues getting it done and all was covered.
Sink drain separated from the sink
Water heater control unit replaced
Grey tank plumping leak repaired
Panels were cut too long and separated from walls - fixed.
Some trim came loose - fixed.
Speaker in bedroom was about to fall on my head and was repaired

The unit has 11,000 miles in year one, so it was driven on some long trips and now it’s good as new.

We have a 33SW, front jacks hang low. Haven't hit them on anything yet.

I think the Chateaus are built in a separate plant from the shoe boxes. No one really seems to have all the "everything's falling apart and I can't stand up" issues. Makes a big difference when a truck company builds the truck. We've had zero issues and I couldn't say enough about the fit and finish. Very pleased!! They should name those "loaf of bread" models the "Cousin Eddie".

Beautiful!!

We just got our first Class C a couple months ago. Only 2500 miles so far, but another 3500 miles already on the calendar. Loving it.

Leaving in an hour for the first 10 day trip!! Heading to NC for daughter's wedding then on to Folly Beach to officiate my niece's wedding on the beach. Stopping for a few nights in between and practice getting to know the new coach!! Wish us luck!!

My wife and I are still in the pre-purchase, shopping days. Love the Chateau 28Z, but have heard quite a few rumblings about "fit and finish." Are you concerned about these? Also, is yours a 2019, and how did you go about getting a fair price. Oh, one more thing, my wife prefers models that have separate bath/shower. How is the space in the bathroom with the shower? Thank you for posting the awesome photos.

The fit and finish is pretty poor. I'm pretty handy so I'm able to fix and improve things as they come loose. My dealer did a lot of work in warranty to address some things, panels coming loose, microwave falling out, a leak, etc. Mt rig is a 2017 model, this post is a couple of years old now. The bathroom has a standup shower - no tub and it's pretty tight but not as tight as some I've seen.

With all it's faults, we still love it and figure that based on the price we paid new, it's about what we expected.

Happy 28Z owner

We got our 2020 28Z in June. We've done a little over 6k miles and 25 nights. Heading out tonight for 3 more! We love the floor plan. Just the two of us and our little dog. I've been watching some videos of other models and have to say, the rear storage is a big bonus! Can't imaging trying to get everything we have there in some of the other rigs. I had to fix one hinge on a cabinet that came loose and dealer replaced one of the over sofa door pistons. Have one wall panel in the bedroom that is too long and pulled away. Will wait until the end of the season to have the dealer fix that one. I installed a 32" TV in the bedroom. Built a 3/4" plywood panel to put over the steps when we're in for the night. Keeps the dog out of the stairwell (and away from our shoes!) and gives us a couple more square feet! Planning to figure out some sort of clip on, removable extension to the counter top to the right of the sink. My wife is a home chef and missing prep work area. All in all, I'd say Thor did right by us on this rig. Thrilled with the purchase.
