New Class C Owner

Hello everyone, I just picked up a a nice 2019 Freedom Elite 26HE with 8k miles that had been keep in the garage when not use.

We are downsizing from a 39' 5th wheel which was a home away from home but started feeling more like work than fun as most of our trips are only 2-3 days long. And we hated that many rustic state parks we would like to visit are length restricted, so we hope the smaller motorhome gives a little more "freedom" to pick more parks and spend more time traveling on the weekends.

I also want to pull a trailer with my motorcycles to enjoy riding in parts of the country I would not normally ride.

I see a lot of folks add Sumosprings and anti-sway bars. Any other suggestions to improve performance would be apricated.

With regard to length restrictions in state parks:

Those really aren't restrictions, they are sort of advisory. I routinely input a 20' length for my 25.5' Axis when I am making reservations and I have never had a ranger say I was too long or had any problem getting into a site.

Those length "advisories" are designed to accommodate the length of a trailer and TV generally. So a Class C or short Class A MH without a toad won't have any problem getting into one designated as 20' maximum.

I have even booked stays in "tent only" campsites when I knew it was doable. I once asked a ranger about this and he said that if I could get in without extending into the road he was fine with camping at a tent only site with my MH.

Of course some tent only sites really are tent only as they are walk ins.

Welcome to the forum.
We added Sumo springs to the front, REPLACED the existing front and rear sway bars and steering stabilizer. A good front end alignment is also a good idea.
These made a big difference in handling, especially on the open road with semi’s passing.
E-trailer has various brands of stabilizers to offer.
I did all the work myself, saving $$ by not paying someone to install the parts. If you are not mechanically inclined, or do not have the tools or space to do the work, you’ll pay a bit more.
