NEW here, Just sayin' Hi !

Just placed my order for a 2022 Magnitude RB34 (not due in til' July)

I'm sure' glad I stumbled on this forum to start the learning cycle over again...

I sold my 01' Coachman 30ft leprechaun in 2010 due to a new job where I ended up deployed for the most part of 5 years which would have left it wasting away, and all the kids were pretty much grown and moved on, except the youngest who hangs with us between his deployments... I sold it for pennies to a nice young family with 3 younglings' who really were in need of a deal and adventure... felt real goood to help someone out !...

So 10 years forward, the deployments are few and far between and we've had to adopt our special needs grandson to raise'... So we need to get out and see the country as we move closer to retirement (still 13 year out, but who's counting)...

Welcome to the forum. We are here to help out as much as possible. When you take delivery and do the PDI ask lots of questions, try out every system and have someone video the entire process(cell phone works great at it).

Enjoy the new experience waiting for you in the future.

Paul

LOLOL Bob', YES, I've seen the Judge's posts on this along with a few others... tons of upgrades to consider'..... My list I've stolen from here has about 35 things already which I am researching.... It's great info as I know from the start which things may be an issue prior to even taking possession...

Nope not at all. Still love the Axis and we've taken care of it enough that it doesn't look 7 years old.

My 2021 Omni RB34 should be here any day now. I’ve given the dealer my list of potential issues, learned from this forum, to hopefully have him inspect prior to my inspection. Dealer says he has 30 days upon delivery from Thor. Then I have my one year.

I hope Thor hasn’t dropped the weight limit on the overhead bunk to 250lbs. That reduces chance to claim structural issue with the cab over...

Welcome bandi !!

Welcome bandi !!
Did you list that list somewhere on the forum? Love to know the potentials...

I was reading the weight issue here on a thread somewhere, someone was looking to modify' it to hold more... Did they' start out marked for 500# and then the changed to 250#. or from 250# to 500#?... the 250# is kinda' light for when they say two adults can sleep up there in Thor' videos...

The inspection list I've given my Sales Rep is:
1. The Slide. It's big & heavy. Makes sure it slides properly, no dragging wheels. Make sure all plumbing stays connected. (Kitchen sink drain seems to be the one item commonly disconnecting.)
2. Support brackets for truck running boards. Make sure they're still there. They seem to fall off.
3. The front cabover. Judge's well documented separation issue. I want to see it auto-level without separation. (The parking lot is not level, so hopefully it will be a adequate first test.)
4. All the other usual tests: Appliances work, outlets work, ducts clean, under bed clean, cabinet & drawers clean, etc.
5. (What have I forgotten?)

Rep made a big deal about how this Dealer inspects and tests these units before the walkthrough with the client. Says they want to find any issues before their clients do. He has said to plan for a multi-hour walkthrough. This is a well-respected high-end Class A & Super C dealer in Oregon. They have 30 days inspection on Thor's dime, including any nicks and scrapes on the drive out from Indiana, then my one year warranty. I've given him several links to this Forums posts, including Judge's. Rep has acknowledged reading them. We'll see if the Dealer delivers on the promise. I sure hope their reputation is well earned.

The cabover weight item: On YouTube video reviews, there are comments and I've seen stickers that state the weight limit of the cabover is 500lbs. That makes sense for two sleeping adults. Now one owner has posted on this forum that his is rated at only 250lbs. I'll be interested to see what mine is rated. 250lbs won't be enough for two sleeping adults in that large sleeping area.

I hope Thor hasn't decided to reduce the weight limit to protect themselves from "Structural Warranty" claims, instead of fixing the damn issue.

2. Support brackets - I read this one on the running boards, I'm going to add some SS bolts and nylocks.
3. The front cabover - THIS one is new to me and is concerning.
4. YEPPER... everything to be functional.

A multi-hour walkthrough - I'll keep this one in mind as the wifey is always in a hurry (hates dealers of anykind)

They have 30 days inspection on Thor's dime - Does this means you have 30days to bring it back in for whatever fails? or that the dealers has it for 30days for inspection prior to the buyer taking posession?

The cabover weight item - I've seen the thread on the weight, and also the videos saying 500# and 2 adults...

My understanding is the Dealer gets 30 days after they take possession to examine for any defects. They either repair, reimbursed by Thor, or return. Then, when sold to client, the client gets their one year warranty.

Since my Dealer is in Oregon and is a Thor warranty service center, they will most likely repair any defect unless it’s egregious.
