Just bought a 2015 or 2016 hurricane registration says 15 all paperwork says 16 from RV one and Des Moines Iowa. Bonded by pictures not impressed talk to the salesman one time when he sold it to us seeing pictures liked it . They had it for 2 weeks and was supposed to service and repair and got down there went through it not impressed with salesman or maintenance of it fold-out couch fell apart safety protection put on outside without residue buffed off and more complaining to do later

I guess it goes buyer beware can be screwed by salesman and can't trust a large RV dealer tried starting water heater it would not work either

So did you come here just to complain that:

Salesman lie, especially used RV salesman?
A 6 to 7 year old coach may have some problems?
That you don't understand that a motorhome is almost always built on the previous year's chassis (a 2016 MH is built on a 2015 Ford chassis)?

These are all common knowledge things in the RV community.

Or did you want some assistance in resolving issues with your new to you RV?

I was in Des Moines recently, and a guy who had just bought a used Axis was complaining about that same dealer. Tough lesson in "Buyer beware."

It's always a good idea to have a used RV inspected by an independent mechanic.

I traded our Vegas for a 2016 Hurricane 27K a year ago and it took a lot of time and money to make it what we want. We hope for a few good years, but plan to sell it before it reaches the 10 year devaluation mark. What you and I bought is really a kit!

BTW, check the dates on all the tires. Ours were original. That was our first $3K expense (expected).

It can be an error made during the registration process. Your chassis is likely a 2015 and your coach/RV body a 2016. The registry looks at the vin that decodes the chassis year as a 2015 when the RV/coach build model year is a 2016.

When I went to register our coach the registry originally printed my title as a 2020 until I corrected them that the RV was a 2021. I only caught it because I'm in the automotive/RV/Motorcycle/Boat/ATV wholesale and recovery industry and it is a fairly common error with RV's. Fortunately there was one person at the registry that had experience and knew what I was talking about, many registry employees don't know this and will title your RV as the incorrect year. The RV builder used a 2020 chassis to build a 2021 RV.

You should have a bill of sale somewhere that proves the RV is a 2016. It wont be easy to fix but with persistence and maybe with some help/proof from Thor you can prove to the registry that your coach is actually a 2016. Best of luck.
