Red face New Hurricane Owners

Hi, all.
Ellie and I bought a 2000 Four Winds Hurricane recently and expect to pick it up from the dealer the second week of January. With less than 30k miles and obviously stored indoors for nearly its entire life, it seems brand new.

We are new to RVing, having spent three days last Fall in a rented 24-foot Jamboree. I have a lot of camping experience, but married a city girl, so I’ve had to curtail the wanderlust until 2020, a year that made both us want to get out of Dodge.

We are looking forward to having a new and ever-changing community of RVers to spend time with.

Have you been making plans for your shakedown cruise yet?

Does a 3-hour drive from the dealer count?

We’ll probably wait until late February for the first trip (co-pilot is a city girl, remember?)
It is totally unstocked, so need time to make it livable.

...and since she's a "city girl", make sure you at least get her an upgraded handheld shower head. A hot shower will wash away a ton of inconveniences!

Congrats and welcome to the forum. Make sure the dealer takes their time explaining everything to you, and make sure EVERYTHING works. Have the dealer demonstrate EVERYTHING.

One more thing: Don't sell them "City Girls" short.
Mine used to think that camping was when room service shut down before midnight.
Now: she'd rather be in our RV; than anyplace else!
