Hello new from western NC

I now have a 2006 Hurricane with some damage from small accident. Wondering if anyone has suggestions on seeing a schematics the external connections to the drivers side rear area. I have attached a photo I hope

Am I looking at black water drained hose opening? There are at least 2 openers oh's I am wondering about.

Any thoughts would be helpful. Jp

Well....

Hi there. I saw the picture of the damage on your rig. There wasn't enough detail to give you a good, solid answer, but in the interest of helping others, let me prepare you...This will be an expensive fix!

The issue is whether the damage caused leaking from your tanks. If so, there is no fix. You'll need new tanks. I'm studying to be a technician after owning a DIY class C for four years, and I've had my share of issues that were too big for me to tackle.

Unless you're proficient on RV repairs - above the DYI level, you'll have to pay for at least an inspection and probably a replacement.

The reason I say this is that the exhaust tubing from your tanks is rigid. From your pics, I'd guess they cracked somewhere along the tubes. A microscopic ic crack can cause major issues. Imagine the drip-drip-drip of your black tank on a park's cement pad.

The body work however is another story. I t's easy to rebuild wood framing and to re-bend the aluminum skin - if you have aluminum, which it appears in the photo. Asdell is a bit more complicated.

But whatever the cost, don't be discouraged. Learn what you can from the experience and move forward. RVing isn't without challenges, but the reward is far superior to the problem!

Hello & welcome.

Photo is there. I guess relatively speaking that might be a "small" accident but I wouldn't call it minor. Are you planning to fix it yourself or hire an RV repair shop? Where are you located?

Thor schematics are not likely to be very helpful. I got some wiring & plumbing schematics from the Thor Owners Resource page but those are more of a general indication of approximately where things might be located than any sort of measured diagrams/plans. And I don't know if they have info on older models.

Well I feel sure that we can't use the water or bathroom until this is resolved.
The immediate concern is a broken taillight . Will that automatically result in a police stop?
I am trying to assist my son . He loved the sound of owning a rv but maybe bit off more than he can chew.
We are trying to get from NJ where we are to Colorado. He needs to resolve drivers license issues there.

Members of my family think I should bail. Hate to do that, but need to move on from this location.

Thanks for any and all suggestions

Tail lights aren't limited to rv.
This is universal.

Hire a mobile mechanic to do a rush repair to get you on the road.
Or
Order a storage space for a time period and proceed to Colorado.
Have it repaired while you're away from it.

Yes, you will need working tail lights (brake & turn signal especially, & tail light if driving after dark). You can get fairly inexpensive magnetic mount lights (steel bumper?) that plug into a trailer plug. https://www.harborfreight.com/12v-ma...kit-64282.html

That, or bolt a universal tail light and wire it into the damaged one.

FWIW, if the wires and light are gone, there are connections to your trailer hitch socket that you might use to rig up a LHS light. I used these to add an additional light to my trailer hitch. The schematic is readily available.

Also, it looks like the external port for your propane is missing. Make sure propane is turned off, or bleed bottle down.

Good luck.

Not to be a downer, but I had a sideswipe on the left side in 2017. Three new cargo doors, fiberglass repair, partial paint, drive shaft replacement and a new tailpipe was the damage. I took to coach to iron Horse RV in San Antonio. Thor MC supplied all the requested parts and Iron Horse did the body and paint work, replaced the driveshafts and center bearing, and fabricated an new exhaust out of 4 inch SS. Total cost was just over $11,000 (labor was billed at $135 per hour). I am happy to report that The Hartford covered all the cost except for the $1,000 deductible. Thor MC supplied all the requested parts in 6 working days and Iron Horse returned the coach to me in working 18 days. The repairs still look good, but some of the clear coat in the nude fiberglass is started to fail.

Unless you are familiar with plumbing and fiberglass repair, I would find a RV collision repair shop or a boat repair shop and let them fix it.
