Hello I just wanted to say hello to all of you. I have just retired from the military and am looking forward to traveling with my wife. I just bought a older 1992 Fourwinds 28 foot class C that is in excellent condition with only 32k original miles. Hoping to upgrade someday but am looking forward to the experience.Click image for larger version

A word of advice... a coach that age, no matter how it looks... make sure you professionally check wiring and gas connections, cleanliness of refrigerator/hot water heater burners, etc. My daughter's 93 Four Winds Class A just burned to the ground. Thank the Lord, they weren't in it when it happened.

Thanks for the info. I've had it for a couple of months now and everything works great. I will keep my eyes open for anything that might cause problems.

Hope you didn't take the age issue the wrong way. Lots of older rigs out there. After what happened, I am a bit paranoid about our Class A that is only a year and a half old. Found tree debris and a few cobwebs around the refrigerator burner when I inspected. Vacuumed, wiped everything down and installed insect screens on the refrigerator, water heater and furnace. Oh yeah, don't forget to check the age of the tires. If they are showing excessive cracking, dump them. If they show they were made 5-6 years ago... probably time to change them out no matter how good they look.

Thanks again for the info. I have replaced a few things that have aged and other things that I thought should be. I'm still working on it. The tires are all brand new, one thing I noticed first. I believe it was stored for a long time and so far everything works great. I've only had a issue with the black tank blowing water back but it's not full. I had to replace the gate valve but I think that there is still a cool in it or a vent problem. I'm going to but a inspection camera to look inside the figure out what's wrong. The only issue I have besides that is that I have no info on this RV like manuals ect. I don't know much about it yet but I'm still looking.
By the way you are really close to me I'm staying at the AFB in Moreno Valley.

Sry for the spelling error I meant to say that the tank might still have a clog in it. And no I didn't take your response any any negative way. I like the feedback.

It's a nice looking rig! Welcome to retirement and I hope you enjoy it much. If you've not been up there yet I'd encourage you to get on the roof, on your hands and knees, and examine EVERYTHING very carefully for tiny cracks in the caulking and anywhere water might get in. Sneaky stuff water! I had an older machine that was just fine - until it wasn't. By he time I learned about roofs, windows and seams there was significant water damage. All the best and thank you for your service.

Thank you for your service! Congrats on retirement. I'm a USAF vet, did one hitch and separated. Recently retired from my civilian career, and we just bought our first RV.
