New owner

Well me made the jump just purchased our new 2019 Thor Freedom Elite 30FE. We are excited and disappointed since we are in the middle of winter. Glad to be a part of this forum and hope to read some good posts as well as post/ask questions myself. We have not owned a motor Coach before so no doubt questions will be coming.

Congrats and welcome to the forum. We're in the same boat as we have not been able to camp since we bought our motorhome either.

Congratulations and Welcome! We use ours All Winter. Just got back from Boyne Mtn. Skiing last week. Do a 1 or 2 night winter shakedown trip locally you will love it and learn a lot.

Thanks all, no trips right now but have sons in Charleston SC, and Biloxi MS so I know those trips will be coming soon. And I really want to see Mt. Rushmore.

Welcome the forum. Lots of knowledge here.

We bought our first MH the day after Christmas and take delivery on February 15th. We are doing some preliminary planning. Nothing major yet.

Mt. Rushmore was our very first long trip with a camper. Very cool to see. (If you're looking for a campground try the Mt. Rushmore KOA. Its only 3 miles from Mt. Rushmore (I believe they offer shuttles if you don't bring a car--but you really should bring a vehicle as there is a ton of stuff to see in the area).

We stayed at that KOA back in 96 during Sturges week 😧 We rented a MH. They do have shuttles for MT Rushmore and Crazy Horse. It is a nice KOA with a large restaurant on grounds.

Welcome to the forum.
Any question, any time, that's okay.
If you ever discover an annoyance, then figure it out with no questions asked here, tell us your story about it.
We all love reading about them, and sometimes pipe in on it too!

Welcome to the forum... There is lots of knowledge, wisdom and opinions, all you have to do is ask...

I thought winter was for sitting in the RV and thinking of warmer weather.

Another welcome. We've been to the Black Hills/Mt Rushmore area several times, including a stay at that Ko A with the grandkids. If you are traveling without kids, that Ko A would be way down on my campground preferances. Easy to rent a car in Rapid City, if you aren't towing. The drive down Spearfish Canyon near there is one of our favorites, but no RVs allowed.

Same here

We bought a 2014 Thor Freedom Elite 23H in November and we covered it and the tires, sitting in our driveway!

We bought a toad, 2013 Jeep Sahara, now trying to figure out what we need. Need tow package for Jeep, and thinking tire pressure warning kit, and those blocks to drive on to level. And level system... and sheets for overhead bunk. New rug for floor and decorating ideas. So busy reading forums and reviews.

Sometimes I unzip it and sit inside. We are in PA so first trip in April to Trap Pond State Park to shake it down. Then Assateague and local trips until long trip to Bay of Fundy in June.

Safe travels everyone.

Always looking for new owners' help

We bought our first motorhome the first week of November and took it for a quick shake-down trip around Thanksgiving, since then it has been into Camping World for warranty work and is now sitting in the front yard waiting for warmer weather.

Is it standard procedure for RV dealers to charge $29 per item that you bring to their attention, that you think is covered under the warranty or just have a question about? They’re charging me $160 for telling me: 1) that the exterior kitchen sink drains when you push the hidden switch (that they didn’t tell me about in the walk around); 2) that they won’t cover the missing antenna (which, in the walk around, they didn’t turn on the televisions so I have no way of knowing whether the antenna was there or not); 3) that the inside refrigerator wasn’t staying on because of a bad inverter that is covered under warranty but is a separate line item; and 4) for a quote to replace the exterior ladder that I pranged when I was backing without a spotter. I think that I’m getting ripped off but wonder if this is an industry-wide issue, to dime you to death if you bring your motorhome in for service, even if it’s warranty work or just is it just my dealer?

I try to spend time in it every week and love to weekend camp with the grandchildren on weekends, even if it is in the front yard.
