New owner 19G

I just bought a 19G (the smallest) from Cruise America. I’m converting it to a mobile office. So far I’m happy but I’m discovering that their maintenance guys are not the brightest. I had a roof leak the first night in it which was due to them caulking the Maxxair vent creating a puddle inside the cover. Also, the original builder only installed 4 corner screws in each vent instead of all 24 screws, and used caulk (poorly done) instead of the putty tape. I have since replaced both and done it properly. I’m now inspecting all systems with a critical eye and learning where they hid critical components.

Welcome to the forum. Glad you have been able to repair some of the issues without much trouble. If you run across something else and are not sure how to address it, just ask and someone will have an answer for you.

Paul

My guess is a "lock business". Jeez Bob, you don't have the eye for detail that you used to have.

Me too.
Eight. Hourz. Of. Zoom. Turdishness.
Spent 8 hours reading every page in the book we already had.
I'm not sure I'll ever see as well as before the meeting and it'll take me a week to grow back the brain cells he killed.

Op,
You're doing it right.
Most just complain and don't do the fixes.

Did you buy it not refurbished, or did you remove the graphics yourself? If the latter, heat gun and ... ?

I asked them to not install the graphics as part of their “refurbishment”. I got a $300 credit. They repaint all the units so I’m thinking that removing graphics on fresh paint after the fact could be a disaster. . . The paint job reminds me of Earl Shieb or Maco, certainly not top of the line when you start scrutinizing the details.

But I’m happy with it so far. I added the Safe T Plus steering damper and a front sway bar and it dramatically improved the handling. Next is the Koni shocks (on back order until January)

While I am sure a quick Google can find it, care to link to the sway bar? I've done this in a car before, so it shouldn't be rocket science as far as the install is concerned. I've never installed a steering damper on a car before though (only on a moto).

Honestly I don’t know. It is whatever Safe T Plus sells. It is bright yellow and about twice the diameter of the stock bar. Safe T Plus is here in Georgia and the factory installs the components for just the cost of the part, no labor. And they ride with you after installation to calibrate the damper. Check their website Or give them a call, nice folks.
